So we've come to this again. My last copy of the Penguin Lu Xun that I loaned out (when? to whom?) hasn't made it back. I've got a copy of the Yang & Yang translation, but I want the Penguin. I suppose I'll just get another copy. It's not a bad thing to have more Lu Xun floating around out there.

In a few years it’ll be Ukrainians who were betrayed by the US and decide they have nothing to lose.
The US treats its own soldiers terribly that there is such a concept as homeless vets. It treats its allies, or recruited allies, even worse that I’m surprised this doesn’t happen more often.

If I'm understanding this correctly, the man who shot two national guards in DC was a former Afghan child soldier who fought alongside US special forces and in a CIA-supervised unit and later was granted asylum. The word "blowback" comes to mind.
