the actual story here, which the media never talks about, is that police in this country have become a discrete right-wing political operation. the story isn't about cops leaving (they're lying about that), it's about the police trying to exert influence over elections.

There are some reports saying saying it was a misunderstanding, but China was very precise in its language both originally and in its clarification about export controls

The US will still need to deal with the export controls as is, but looks like they aren't going scorched earth with a 100% tariff

About a month ago, the Trump administration got rid of the de minimis exemption, whereby packages valued under $800 could slide in without import duties. Now there's a backlog as the government can't process all of this paperwork, leading to UPS just destroying packages

The demo was bad because it throws you into the action without explaining much, but the actual game does a good job of introducing the mechanics and the gameplay is strong. It’s a good step forward for the series and not just a button masher like some prior games.

Building a military is not imperialism.

Imperialism usually refers to overseas conquest, settler colonialism, direct political control, perhaps even economic dominance. None of which China have done or exert.

You can't call a country imperialist based on vibes and Western propaganda.

Part of it is also a shift away from US based studios due to high costs and operational challenges, in favor of non North America based studios.

This expansion has been costly and not necessarily delivered timely results.

NetEase previously shut down Ouka Studio in Japan, Worlds Untold in Canada, and Jar of Sparks & T-Minus Zero in the US.

Tencent sold Splash Damage and Secret Mode to private equity, Eleventh Hour to Krafton etc.
