Words, both recreationally and professionally. Video games/comics/giant robots nerd, with a side of yelling about sports. Largely boring.
I named my fists Vladimir and Estragon because they never accomplish anything
I named my fists Rosencrantz and Guildenstern cause they're never quite where the action is
i named my fists Rodgers and Hammerstein cuz theyre always in my own little corner

Stoppard always feels clever in a way that so so many writers mimic, but everyone else copies the surface. the Stoppard magic is that the cleverness is impossibly thin, basically transparent, and there’s this unending well of feeling on the other side

me before the second Trump admin: Chris Van Hollen seems pretty good, I guess

me at this point: I will run through a brick wall for Chris Van Hollen
Van Hollen is being personally credited as the chief pressure point that made Israel release a Palestinian teenager with American citizenship from their dungeons, where he was held for 9 months without even a criminal charge.
⭕️ Sen. Chris Van Hollen (@vanhollen.senate.gov) credited for key role in release of US teen from Israeli detention

Palestinian-American child Mohammed Ibrahim, 16, was freed today after 9 months of Israeli imprisonment w/o charge. Journalist Jasper Nathaniel, who has been a major advocate for...

A post-NYC addendum to this trip: we're in DC for the touring production of the (surprisingly trans-positive!) stage adaptation of SOME LIKE IT HOT, three years after we saw its very first preview on Broadway. Looking forward to seeing the new cast.

I would like to know! 🤓👾

I said after FOR GOOD that the best-case scenario for both parts being hits is a low-key but sustained movie musical resurgence and the worst case is Schwartz and Holzman chained to a desk trying to write A LION AMONG MEN: PART TWO in 2031
A problem of the 21st century - and I'm truly not entirely sure if it's a problem with studios or with audiences - is that the response to Wicked 1+2 being hits is not "we should make more musicals" but rather "we should make more Wickeds"

What if Wicked was released in 1900?

Here is my take on the book cover / movie poster using the designs W. W. Denslow and John R. Neill did for L. Frank Baum's original books.

(I made the Witch green more for colour scheme but also it's fairly significant to Maguire's book)

1) Sometimes the stopped, fascist clock is right, and one of those is when it says not to take off your shoes on a plane, you MONSTERS
2) But: "put your feet on the chair ahead of you"? When was the last time this guy even saw a PICTURE of the inside of a commercial aircraft?
Duffy on his demand that air travelers not wear slippers or pajamas: "It honors our country ... don't take your shoes off and put your feet on the chair ahead of you"

If Hakeem Jeffries becomes Speaker DURING 2026 I will laugh for seven thousand years
Then this today in Punchbowl. Republicans are angry that the White House is "treating them like garbage". You can't act like you aren't worthy of any respect and then complain that you don't get respected. They are reaping what they sowed. (2/2)

Despite living in a major metropolitan area (the nation's capital!) over-the-air broadcasts have been all but useless for me for over a decade. No matter what antenna I use or how I orient it, I can pick up ABC and occasionally NBC. CBS and Fox, no chance.
I’m just thinking of this because I’m watching football while not paying anybody a penny: Do Americans know that you can (still!) watch HD digital broadcasts of all the major networks over the air, for free, complete with programming guide data, just by hooking up an antenna to your TV?

GODZILLA X KONG was a perfectly stupid movie to watch on the train. Not sure whether my favorite part was King Kong using a baby mega-gorilla as a melee weapon or Godzilla going Super Saiyan Rosé

Your yearly reminder that “holiday” celebrations that only include Christian traditions are not, in fact, inclusive even if you don’t use the word Christmas, so tbh I’d rather you just say it’s Christmas.
Until a few years ago, ugly holiday sweaters didn’t exist. They’re ugly Christmas sweaters, with some generic Jewish iconography to be “inclusive.” But the truth is, when I have to buy one to wear to a work party, I feel like I’m in another culture’s drag.
