🚨It remains unclear whether the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation — which began distributing aid in late May and outside whose sites Israeli soldiers gunned down thousands of Palestinians — will be part of the post-ceasefire humanitarian response in Gaza.

Al Jazeera reported that the GHF site along the Netzarim Axis was dismantled today. But social media posts from the group that Palestinians quickly came to describe as “death trap” suggest it continues to operate in southern Gaza, with several updates from the past 48 hours indicating ongoing activity and plans to keep its distribution sites running.

In one post, GHF Executive Director John Acree said: “Our staff and local Palestinian partners remain dedicated to our mission.” Another statement claimed the group is “working to innovate and adapt to the unique needs on the ground,” adding, “this mission isn’t easy, but it’s working.”

🔴 REPORT | Gaza Aid Still at Pre-Ceasefire Levels Despite Massive & Urgent Needs

With preparations underway to increase the flow of aid into Gaza, humanitarian deliveries remain at roughly pre-ceasefire levels, U.N.’s humanitarian agency OCHA said today. Spokesperson Olga Cherevko said a large-scale expansion is expected “imminently,” with plans to immediately assist “vulnerable groups” with food, medicine, and shelter, but noted it requires “unrestricted entry of aid” and additional crossings.

The World Food Programme said it has begun ramping up operations as the ceasefire allows international groups to return. “With full access, WFP intends to restore its regular food distribution system,” the agency said, adding that “humanitarian needs in Gaza have never been greater.” More than “170,000 metric tons of food” are ready for dispatch “via Ashdod, Egypt, Jordan, and the West Bank corridors” — enough to feed over two million people for three months — as WFP echoed calls for “unhindered humanitarian access.” Gaza’s Health Ministry urged the world to act immediately. “The world must act quickly to bring in aid, medicines, and medical supplies… any delay in this step means the loss of more lives,” said the ministry’s director general, citing the death of a child at Nasser Hospital for lack of a $2 medical item. “Continuous supply convoys are needed, along with convoys of specialized doctors and medical delegations, after more than 1,700 of our medical personnel were killed and over 360 arrested.”

Hours after the ceasefire took effect, Hamas moved swiftly to re-establish control across the Gaza Strip — setting up checkpoints, clashing with rival factions, and targeting suspected collaborators.

The Financial Times cited witnesses who said gun battles broke out in northern Gaza between Hamas and clans armed by Israel, while armed fighters were seen searching cars in Gaza City and negotiating disarmament with militias in Khan Younis. Hamas has ordered all rivals to surrender their weapons within 48 hours. The largest militia, the Popular Forces — backed by Israel — has refused.

According to the BBC, Hamas has also recalled about 7,000 fighters to reassert control over areas vacated by Israeli troops and appointed five new governors, all with military backgrounds. A BBC Arabic analyst said the move signals Hamas’s intent to maintain order, secure aid convoys, and resist exclusion from Gaza’s future governance — despite Trump’s plan calling for an international “stabilization force.”

The ceasefire deal currently includes only a prisoner exchange and limited Israeli withdrawal. A second phase, yet to be negotiated, involves discussion on Hamas’ continued use of arms. For now, however, the group’s rapid mobilization suggests it remains firmly in control of Gaza’s internal security.

3. Abdullah Barghouti

Born in 1972 in Kuwait, Abdullah Barghouti moved to Jordan after the Gulf War, where he earned a diploma in mechanics. He later studied electronic engineering in South Korea, where he also learned to manufacture explosives and gained advanced skills in computer and communications hacking.

During the Second Intifada (2000), Barghouti became one of the most prominent engineers behind Palestinian resistance operations. He was briefly detained by the Palestinian Preventive Security, and after his release, continued organizing operations against Israeli occupation forces and settlements. Israel accuses him of responsibility for the deaths of 66 Israelis and injuries to over 500 others.

Barghouti was arrested by Israeli forces on March 5, 2003, and later sentenced to 67 life terms — the longest prison sentence in history. He spent 10 years in solitary confinement, subjected to severe psychological and physical torture. Over two decades in prison, his family has been allowed to visit him only six times. During the 2011 “Wafa al-Ahrar” (Gilad Shalit) exchange, he refused to be released, insisting that others who had been jailed longer be freed first. In April 2025, his daughter Tala Barghouti revealed devastating new details from a lawyer’s recent visit, including that most of the bones in his body had been broken due to extreme beatings:

“The lawyer left the meeting with Abdullah Barghouti in tears, unable to describe the brutal torture she had witnessed. It was no ordinary visit—it was a human shock that encapsulated the suffering of a prisoner subjected to daily torture, with his dignity utterly crushed.”

Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner is one of the key American architects of Trump’s post-Gaza policy. In August 2025, he briefed Trump on the plan he had been working on for several months with Tony Blair and Steve Witkoff to shape what the Trump team calls its “day-after” blueprint for Gaza. It’s worth revisiting how Kushner himself has spoken about the Strip.

At a Harvard Kennedy School event in early 2024, Kushner argued that Israel should “move the people out [of Rafah] and then clean it up,” describing Gaza as “not really a historical precedent” but the product of past wars whose borders could naturally change again. When told that Arab leaders feared Israel would never allow displaced Gazans to return, he replied, “Maybe, but I’m not sure there’s much left of Gaza at this point,” before describing the enclave as “waterfront property” which would be “very valuable.”

Israel’s Prime Minister and former Defense Minister are wanted by the International Criminal Court for war crimes and crimes against humanity — including using starvation as a weapon of war and deliberately directing attacks on civilians.

Israel has been found to have committed genocide in Gaza by a vast majority of genocide scholars, by Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, several Israeli NGOs, and the UN Commission of Inquiry, the UN’s top investigative body.

And then there’s Jared Kushner — the man now leading the work on shaping Trump’s post-ceasefire Gaza policy: Aaron Rupar via X (@atrupar): "Jared Kushner in Tel Aviv: 'Instead of replicating the barbarism of the enemy, you chose to be exceptional, you chose to stand for the values that you stand for, and I couldn't be prouder to be a friend of Israel.'"

In February 2025, Israel postponed the release of hundreds of Palestinian “prisoners” after six Israeli captives were freed, claiming Hamas held “degrading ceremonies” that “demeaned our hostages.”

Western media echoed the outrage, calling the scenes — fighters handing captives to the Red Cross before cheering crowds — “savage.”

🇸🇮 Slovenia’s President and government have developed some of the strongest pro-Palestinian positions in Europe.
The country officially recognized the State of Palestine in June 2024, becoming the 147th UN member to do so and formalizing diplomatic ties the following day. The government imposed sanctions including a ban on weapons exports to Israel and a ban on products from Israeli settlements. It has also declared top Israeli far-right ministers persona non grata and called for international measures in response to Israel’s genocide in Gaza. Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar was asked whether Donald Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. Her response 👇 The Resonance via X (@Partisan_12): "'Do you think President Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize?'

🔴 In the past 24 hours, Gaza’s Health Ministry reported an additional 151 killed (116 of whom were recovered from the rubble) and 72 injured arriving at hospitals.

This brings the recorded death toll from the Israeli genocide in Gaza to 67,682 and 170,033 injuries (likely 3-5x higher).
