It occurs to me that to many transphobes, the fact that gender-affirming care unequivocally reduces trans children’s suicidality is not, in fact, a recommendation in its favor.
"[G]ender-affirming care saves lives."

"Suicidality scores among the [study's] patients who provided responses dropped by over 67 percent."

"[O]f the hundreds of patients who started hormone therapy, only seven discontinued their treatment."

New Study: Gender-Affirming Care Dramatically Lowers Suicide Risk for Trans Kids
Twenty-seven states in the US ban gender-affirming treatments for trans youth, including hormone therapy.

Why is anyone afraid of this demented elderly weirdo?

If he stood behind you at the checkout ranting like he does online, there’s a nonzero chance you’d deck him.

This is fundamentally Nazism. The idea that different peoples than the favored races carry degradation in their very genes, that they cannot strive to become better because biology compels them to be worse. It’s not just repugnant, it’s a bald faced lie.
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

The fundamental thing to understand about this administration is the president is a grumpy retiree. He has no interest in working anymore. Which leads to him being pissed that he is getting asked a question, pissed he has to show up and work, the scheming viziers running the show, etc..

I can’t believe people in the room don’t push back. It doesn’t matter if he’s the president, part of holding him accountable is standing up to his bullying— especially if he’s doing it right in front of your face

Bluesky doesn’t have a central algorithm that’s forced on everybody, and allows users to create their own feeds.

I think that is the *only* ethical model for social media going forward:

Algorithms do widen the divide: Social media feeds shape political polarization
A study shows that the order in which platforms like X display content to their users affects their animosity towards other ideological groups

At what point will the press corps, as a chorus, in unison, just shout back, “THATS NOT TRUE”!

What are we doing?

I think often of the time a bunch of murder victims’ families showed Trump treasured photos of their loved ones and he signed them
Q: Do you plan to attend Sarah's funeral?

TRUMP: I haven't thought about it yet, but it's certainly something I can conceive of. I love West Virginia. You know, I won West Virginia by one of the biggest margins of any president anywhere.

Good to have confirmation on my gut feeling about that platform. It‘s uniquely cruel, triggering and rage baity.

I get that many creators depend on it because it has been their main historically, but I encourage you to migrate to literally anywhere else within your possibilities.

I don't agree with all of Mamdani's policies now that I've looked into them more (tho I do with most), but centering *everyone* matters and "that we have a responsibility to help each other", that's a soapbox I stand on *constantly*
