Funny that he uses the word idiot too, because I could write a whole dissertation on how most forms of oppression are rooted in ableism and no one who ignores that factor comes to successfully accomplish social change, aside from self serving reform.

It also seems to be the case there’s some "unprecedented" incident every other month, if not several happening at once on different regions.

Like how parts of Alaska and Veracruz (Mexico) had catastrophic flash floods with less than a day of difference, but I only learned about Alaska from tiktok.

I’ve noticed that natural disasters are increasing in frequency but news coverage of them is becoming more and more sporadic.

Stuff I used to hear about in news outlets, even if it happened in a different continent, nowadays only shows up on social media unless it’s super local.

I really hope no one who's reading this has to learn from first hand experience how incredibly hard it is to deal with post-infectious chronic illness. The thing is it will become more and more common in coming years while the healthcare system and research institutions suffer from lack of funding.

I suppose there's some point of comparison in the sense that we have uncommon views, but unfortunately ours are informed.

I highly recommend everyone gets as many vaccines as they are elegible for. I also know that public health has been collapsing for 5 years and capitalism won't rebuild it.

Some people seem to think that those who wear masks out in the street and talk about COVID prevention in 2025 are "the left's equivalent to anti-vaxxers".

Which is actually very depressing considering how we're usually the only ones that care to read scientific studies and know how to.

Explain to me why “conversion therapy” is banned in 28 countries and ABA is not, when they have the same creator (O. Ivar Lovaas) and utilize similar if not identical principles, techniques, and goals (forced assimilation).

Autism $peaks is the largest and most popular Autism organization (among allistics), who continues to be 100% in support of ABA. They have lobbyists who push ABA as the “gold standard Autism treatment.” It utilizes same practices as “conversion therapy,” which is currently banned in 28 countries.

ABA (Applied Behavioral Analysis) is the “gold standard” of “treatment” for Autism, and was created by the person as “Conversion therapy” (see Lovaas) with similar techniques and goals. It’s torture that continues to have widespread support and acceptance.
