Getting along like Unicode in an ASCII file. In a love/hate (but mostly love) relationship with Alabama, Mobile in particular. I like SQL. And, of course, EVERYTHING I post here is on my own behalf, speaking only for myself, etc. unless explicitly stated

A haven’t got any memes close to hand, but here’s a heron!
A heron that is rather unimpressed with my lack of fish, looking straight into the camera.

I bet there's something similar in iOS, I admit I haven't looked. Thanks for the idea!

The timer that kicks you out - what tool is that? I like that idea, boot me out whether I want to or not.

I’m so sorry to hear it. I’ve walked that road, and I know how hard it is. All my best to you and yours in this hard time.

Also, @rickbrannan.com, I pulled down a copy of The Apostolic Constitutions from Appian Way’s github the other day - I’m really looking forward to reading it after I finish the books I got from the library. (Spoiler: I probably won’t wait, I’ll just work it in somehow.)
timweigel.bsky.social
Well thanks! I appreciate your kind words!

I can’t remember how I changed mine, but I only see my subscribed subreddits on my homepage. It can be done! I’m only subscribed to a handful of things over there.

I can pretty much guarantee that nobody on here would miss me or notice that I was gone (ON HERE, folks, ON HERE). This is not fishing for compliments or anything! I am a nobody!

I’m a real conflict between my desire to stay informed and my desire to not get overwhelmed. I’ve been pretty conscientious about not following doom-and-gloom accounts, but there’s just SO MUCH. I may need to just stop the social media altogether for a while.

Oof. My hearing ain't what it once was myself and I rely on the subtitles for SO many modern films and shows due to the insane audio.

Jonathan Ajayi and Adarsh Gourav are fantastic. Timothy Olyphant is also excellent as Kirsh. Really, though, good performances all around.

Also, as I've said before, if anyone makes a Discworld movie or series based on the City Watch, Adrian Edmondson is the only choice for Willikins.

One of the BEST parts of Alien: Earth is watching the actors playing kids in adult bodies. They did SO WELL, especially Smee and Lightly's interactions. They are so convincing as a pair of tween dorks who instantly became best buddies.

Aah geez. Well, this just solidifies my decision to wait on it hitting streaming services.

The other draw for me on Legacy was that a friend of mine worked for Digital Domain at the time and is in the credits. THAT'S always cool, seeing a friend in movie credits.

I’m just in it for Jeff Bridges.
timweigel.bsky.social
For me, the TRON movies are all about Jeff Bridges. I haven’t seen Ares yet (I’ll probably wait for it to hit digital release), and while I know TRON and Legacy weren’t terribly GOOD movies I still find them incredibly entertaining. If Ares entertains, it will have served its purpose.

What an absolute treasure Diane Keaton was. Her wit never tired, nor did her style.

This video is everywhere because it's a hilarious visual refutation of Portland being on fire. You can't get a mass movement going without convincing the masses

so yes, this does do something actually

This literally does nothing. You are not beating fascism by dressing up in inflatable suits and dancing

Portland is leading the way. This is how you (non violently) beat Fascism. Humor and ridicule are key.

To be sure, the author writes otherwise perfectly readable code, they don’t do arcane obfuscations or anything clever (derogatory), they just seem to have an aversion to spaces, tabs, and line breaks except when absolutely necessary.

It’s always fun to modify code written by someone that writes like whitespace costs extra.
