Yeah. She’s kinda good in my completely biased opinion. It’s about losing her uncle LD who was part of the Magnetic Fields lineup for 69 Love Songs, and a big influence. So it hits different for family. Probably not her best, but my Go to.

Good work! Mine are 23 (twins). Both musical. Both think Hundreds of Beavers is the best film of the 21st Century. So, know the feeling.

And lots of these dudes were 40ish, right?

I tried to go to an afternoon movie but arrived too late because Buster Keaton scripted and directed my bike ride to the theater.

Protests of any size are usually staged in accessible places with lots of nearby parking but if big turnouts are expected it can be better to carpool, bike if you can, ride share or take transit where available.

I’ve been attending and covering large-scale protests since the 2004 RNC. This is a good idea, and should be shared. And if you have concerns, hit me up and I’ll help if I can. If not, I’m sure somebody can.

If you have never been to a protest before, and you’re nervous about going to no Kings, but you wanna go, comment below with your concerns.

And if you’ve protested, read the comments, and if you find one that you can alleviate their concern, reply.

Hopefully this will get more people to attend!

Dovetails nicely with the eight stages of genocide, unsurprisingly.

Charlottesville was a preview of the future of the Republican Party — and in 2025 at the State Department, that future has reached full, fertile flower.

SCOOP: The State Department's new reorganization plan includes the opening of an "Office for Remigration," a term popularized by far right extremists and neo-Nazis in Europe. The office will coordinate directly with DHS "to advance the President’s immigration agenda."

Even Sundquist, who personally escaped prosecution, did his part to bring on the GOP supermajority.

Oh how I wish this was pure snark and not the goddamn truth.

Private equity takeover of US hospitals led to rise in patient deaths.

Cuts to staffing/investment; high debt, profiteering; worse patient outcomes.

More deaths in nursing homes, increased post-operative complications

Why is UK Govt handing the NHS to PE? Why no investigation of the impact of PE?

My grandfather was so disillusioned after sincerely working for these two corrupt politicians that he got out of politics entirely. And his disillusionment rubbed off on me for a long time.

I say worked but I started very young and was often a political prop during canvassing. Would stuff envelopes and hand out campaign materials at polling places for my grandfather who was a regional campaign manager for Ray Blanton and Jake Butcher.

As an 80’s era dumbass who had worked campaigns for 2 corrupt Tennessee Dems, I was GOP curious in college and can second TRP’s experience.

I was a Young Republican for a brief time in the 1980s (for real). I promise you they talked like this back then. They didn’t know I was Jewish, so the Holocaust jokes flowed freely. It all helped radicalize me against the right.

“Epithets like “f----t,” “retarded” and “n--ga” appeared more than 251 times combined”

If you ever had any doubt that the youth wing of the GOP is fully radicalized and proudly racist these days:
