How did we end up in a world where ICE agents are indistinguishable from the Proud Boys who stormed the Capitol on January 6?

VIGILANTE NATION tells the story of the insidious state laws behind MAGA's return to power, and it's out in paperback today.

this is a completely unserious, bullshit plan, and everyone should say so
Hawley is pitching his colleagues — and Trump — on a new health care plan that would allow all tax payers to deduct up to $25K/person in medical expenses.

Hawley told us he recently discussed the idea with Trump: “I said...'no taxes on tips, no taxes on health care’, and he goes ‘oh I like that."

Grotesque
SCOOP: Sources tell me Donald Trump's name was added to the exterior of the US Institute of Peace building ahead of Thursday's peace agreement signing between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), which will be held inside the building. Confirming if it's been officially renamed.

nah, it's the woke

what happened was that in the year 2000 the gender particles in the atmosphere started to concentrate so intensely that they caused your sense of wonder to exit through your nose.

BERMAN: How many of the 40,000 people born in Somalia living in Minnesota do you consider to be garbage?

McLAUGHLIN: We're really looking at the data

BERMAN: All of them?

McLAUGHLIN: This is not about politics. This is about public safety. We saw the terrorist attack against us last week.

I'm genuinely curious, what is the going rate for a fixer to arrange a Trump pardon?
Trump announces a pardon of Henry Cuellar: "I am hereby announcing my full and unconditional PARDON of beloved Texas Congressman Henry Cuellar, and Imelda. Henry, I don’t know you, but you can sleep well tonight — Your nightmare is finally over!"

The reason Bove continues to humiliate himself for Trump even after he was gifted a judgeship is that he will most likely be needing a pardon from him.

My personal view is that if you don't want a federal court inquiring into your conduct, you shouldn't commit criminal contempt of court then boast about it on Twitter.

I didn't realize until looking at Steve's post that one of the targets of this hearing is Judge Boasberg, who is in the process of investigating the administration's defiance of his order not to deport migrants to El Salvador, where they were tortured and otherwise abused at CECOT.

One way you can tell the warrior ethos stuff is bullshit is that someone with an actual ethos wouldn't be afraid of being held responsible for his actions.

The story here is that Honduras under Hernández was a narco-state of the sort that the administration claims Venezuela is; the DOJ under Biden brought Hernández and his brother to justice; and Trump is going to blow up the convictions because he's an easily manipulated, negatively polarized fool.

The Hernández pardon appears to be the work of Roger Stone, who seems to have conviced the president that he was falsely prosecuted by the Biden administration.
