How did we end up in a world where ICE agents are indistinguishable from the Proud Boys who stormed the Capitol on January 6?

VIGILANTE NATION tells the story of the insidious state laws behind MAGA's return to power, and it's out in paperback today.

Not only has he never looked at Don Jr. or Eric like this, he’s never been so happy to bask in JD Vance’s presence either.

He looks giddy. JOYFUL even.

per vought’s own admission, their strategy is to attack every element of government they can, and if they attract too much pushback for one attack, they shift their focus to another target. sometimes they return, sometimes they don’t. but the bottom line is that public outrage is working
Important to understand that shame has no power over these people, because they feel no shame over doing things like promoting Nazism, but sufficient "noise" in the form of media attention and complaints from embarrassed Republicans can have some effect on policy.

In reversal, Coast Guard again classifies swastikas, nooses as hate symbols
The new order came hours after The Post reported the service would instead classify such symbols as “potentially divisive” under guidelines set for release next month.

Superb use of the "contra" signal here.
Comey also points out that the government's new notice "correcting the record" regarding whether the two-count indictment was ever presented to the grand jury is contradicted by the grand jury transcript itself.

Earlier this morning, President Trump threatened me and a group of service and veteran Members of Congress with arrest, trial, and death by hanging.

Here’s my response:

In other words, Judge Oldham has a sock puppet account on Bluesky, and Judge Oldham definitely searches for his name on Bluesky, which means that Judge Oldham will see your posts about him on Bluesky.

So definitely don't call Judge Oldham a Trumpian hack judge on Bluesky.
No matter how too-online you are, you are nowhere near as too-online as Republican federal appointees, judicial and executive.
Judge Oldham's call for the end of certifying questions from CA5 to state Supreme Courts includes this somewhat inexplicable shot at this here website.

We're being governed by a hodgepodge informal junta. Miller seems top of the list, for now, as de facto chief of staff. The vice president is pretty far down it. Cabinet members and agency heads, to a degree. But mostly White House staff, who hold no office and are not even confirmed by the Senate.

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

Hey you know what George Washington actually did? He relinquished the office of the president when he was no longer eligible to serve, despite some citizens' desire that he become a de facto monarch.
