i think "Really Love" to "Back to the Future" into "Till It's Done" is a magical run of songs. The whole album is magical, but those 3 are just... perfection. The opening to "Till its done" gives me chills.

i think the weirdest part of this discourse in American politics is that it's ONLY cited as a Jewish tradition here when it's nearly-universally practiced in contemporary Arab countries. I guess the difference is that the Torah mentions it explicitly, but the Quran doesn't?

also, their aesthetic was an influence on me in HS. I made my own versions of an LV pattern design to silk screen with after seeing this design

a cropped shot of a screen printed tee for the Detroit hardcore band RZL DZL. The design is printed in blue ink on a white shirt. It's the name of the band in big block letters, but instead of having a solid fill the letter are filled with a Louis Vitton inspired pattern with alternating "diamond" glyphs and the number 5 (a reference to their first release, a 5" vinyl EP)

been looking for RZL DZL merch / records and it seems like everyone kinda low-key hated them during the 2000s? Not like "these guys are dangerous to the scene" but like "their music is lazy and boring". IDK, it's not reinventing the wheel, but it certainly was fun and weird!

this review also helped me realize that "Scream and Shout" is one of the most fun punk songs ever written. IDK exactly what it is (im no music theory geek) but it just *feels* fun

can't recall who but yesterday someone on my feed was like "what happened to all the anti-gov right wing terrorism guys from the 90s" and, like, this is what happened to them. They either went into the military or into PMC work after the security state stopped caring post-9/11
