In 1963/64, #SportingCP played both matches of the Cup Winner's Cup against APOEL at Alvalade.

The Cyprus team didn't have the money to travel to Portugal, so Sporting invited them, and both games were played in Lisbon.

After beating Larne convincingly (3-0) on the Conference League, Santa Clara was defetead by Famalicão (3-0), on Liga Portugal.

A game in which Vasco Mato's men never seem to be in. It was a great display from Famalicão, and Gustavo Sá.

2 - Newly promoted teams lost.

#Tondela and #Alverca got back to #LigaPortugal but suffered losses at the hand of SC Braga (3-0) and Moreirense (2-1).

Both teams had some positives to take from the matches. John Hodge is a nice midfielder in Tondela, Marezi seemed a great signing for Alverca.

In the first match since the death of Jorge Costa, FC Porto put on a great display. A lot of pressure on Vitória, and a team with eyes set on the goal.

Sad news from #FCPorto. Jorge Costa died today, at 53 years old, after a heart attack during the training.

It was the Director of Football of the last 2 years. Played 383 matches for FC Porto, 50 caps for Portugal

Won the Champions League and UEFA Cup playing under Mourinho.

Huge surprise from #FCPorto. Luuk De Jong is the latest arrival, adding to a forward line with Samu and Deniz Gül.

Last 3 seasons were at PSV, in 2023/24 scored 29 goals in Eredivisie and it was one of the best scorers, alongside Vangelis Pavlidis, now in #Benfica
