i think we should separate the terms:

AI: science fiction stuff
Machine Learning: niche useful stuff done by scientists
LLM: obsequious chatbots built on mass scraping Reddit threads
part of the reason i am genuinely irritated with the gAI/AGI cult is because there is real societal benefits in using ML techniques in medical care + weather analysis, and instead people get annoyed with anything that gets lumped in with the plagiarism machine
We could save soooo many lives but people are so caught up in their reactionary moral panic nonsense

Like I’m traveling and have two days in the city where I’m at. In the BEFORE time I would have said: ok pick the day with less forecast rain and do more outdoor things. Now I have no fucking idea how to plan.

As a retiring but still sitting member of the House, MTG has the opportunity to read into the public record documents that otherwise could not be released... and would be protected by the constitution's speech or debate clause from prosecution.

Zohran Mamdani doesn’t make me, an American Jew, feel unsafe.

Having the Coast Guard, which falls under the Department of Homeland Security, decide that a swastika isn’t really a symbol of hate? That makes me, an American Jew, feel pretty damn unsafe.

It's a great cosmic joke that neurodivergence both runs in families and gets diagnosed based on parent reports. I was diagnosed at 30 because a man who has eaten potatoes every day for 57 years and a woman who collects loose buttons decided I was a perfectly normal child.

"How much do you want Social Security to be cut by?"
That's the answer to give. There's very obvious reasons we can't "just work together".

I hate that people are fighting to keep their $500 a month healthcare premiums from going to $2000+ a month.

$500 a month is more than most people can afford and healthcare should be a basic human right.

I hope we can use this as an opportunity to fight for Universal Healthcare. It’s time!

My hot take is that every Senator who voted against healthcare should lose their cushy government healthcare.

Schumer should lose his healthcare.

Let these folks experience the terror they’re inflicting on their constituents to remind them what they’re fighting for.

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

I'm legitimately confused about the play here. No person who now is going to go without coverage in the ACA is going to just blame the GOP. They will rightly blame the Democrats too. Dems won't get "points" for "fighting" if they cave. It makes little sense.

Primary everyone. Every. One. For, if nothing else, not ousting professional loser Schumer from his position. They are fundamentally disinterested in helping you. They all gotta go. All of them. Even the ones I like. You gotta replace everybody with a progressive or a socialist.

Most of y’all are old enough to remember but it bears repeating, Democrats couldn’t peel off a single member of the Republican caucus in the initial fight to enact the ACA, even after they watered down the plans to attract them.

Republicans got 8 Democrats in what’s essentially a vote to repeal.
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

Like using Nazi conspiracy theories about Jews on my combating Islamophobia thread? Yawn so old news

Give me a new one. Be creative

Say Jews invented the moon to create tidal waves. Say Jews made your dog gay

The Democratic Party would do well to look to the social programs of the Black Panther Party as inspiration if SNAP disappears on Saturday. Just running party-sponsored food drives and regular party-sponsored spaghetti dinners in some major cities would be both helpful and good PR.

Not trying to pick on Gallego in particular or anything but when people ask me what the difference between a skilled on-camera performer like Mamdani and a charismatic, practiced public speaker but with no on-camera training is, this video is a good example of the latter
