These politicians aren't in disarray. They fucking hate you. They don't work for you.

At what point do we acknowledge that both major political parties have failed themselves, and us, and that it’s time for something new to represent everyday Americans?

In a healthy democracy, these party leaders would have been out on their asses 20+ years ago instead of just forcing us to watch as they physically rot into decrepitude

Legit what is even the point of the Democrats? Truly.

Just imagining the meeting where they must have been like “they might cancel my flight? Time to kill the sick.”

So the Democrats SWEPT recent elections, and are celebrating their newfound momentum: by caving in to everything the Republicans wants! Wow that sounds like a really great way to mobilize your base and turn out the voter next year‘s election 🙄🙄🙄
I miss this about blogs and, sometimes, discussion boards. I feel like every social media site has its own flaw that keeps this from flourishing.
I do the occasionally, when a gif is easily available, reasonably identifiable and matches something of my personal connection. That is rare.

Then I usually move on, generally with the thought that I'll come back to the problem which I never do.

If Schumer votes AGAINST this but enough Ds vote FOR it that it passes, he needs to RESIGN immediately.

He will have shown himself to be absolutely ineffective as a minority leader. He has to go.

Literally resign tonight.

During the time I was a Virginia reporter I got to see many politicians speak, and I promise you that Tim Kaine was by some distance the least inspiring politician I ever saw, including the local councilmen in my city of 20,000 people.

Republicans took away your healthcare. We refused to fight back. Please rush us $3
Can't wait for tomorrow's fundraising email from the Democratic Party.

The weirdest thing about these articles is that they all understand that voters want likable politicians with a compelling vision who deliver meaningful benefits. That's not really the case for centrism though!

Exactly. My experience is that successful authors border more toward too much advice on how to succeed than the reverse.

You cannot separate the current nightmare we now inhabit from the collapse/crisis in how rich, powerful middle-aged men perceive masculinity, especially their own insecurities.
I’m sorry, but a goofy looking guy who grew up a privileged son of a pediatrician and has a phd in social theory from the university of Goethe and started in tech by investing an inheritance left to him by his grandfather talking about being a “dude” is very, very funny to me.
I came to note this. I feel like the last time I saw the Cutis/Matheson version, it wasn't the only element that carried over to Coppola, but I won't swear to that.
I think we're seeing, as monoculture dies, people use likes and, perhaps more importantly, dislikes as a means of identification, or, more likely, that they're doing it in subtler ways.

Judging middle school entrepreneurship fair applications and it doesn't get any points on the rubric, but gotta appreciate the kid who crossed out the "how many items to break even" question and wrote "I just want to do this. There's no way I'll cover my costs."

I worked in a local retail place that required us to personally greet every customer, ask if they needed anything, and check in with them every 10 minutes. All it did was annoy and creep out customers who wanted to browse in peace.
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.

If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."

🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.
Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.

I saw someone in a Third Eye Blind t-shirt and... I don't even remember anyone wearing Third Eye Blind shirts when they were producing hits.
Could've gone with this, but I think these ran in a larger region.. which would admittedly still be "regional".
