We have been taught for so long (my generation especially) that the biggest sin in life is to let someone get one up on you. So what? Life isn’t a contest; the people selling you that already consider you the pawns in their game. Empathy being destroyed is the death of anything good in human culture

Every couple of weeks someone great dies and we all make a big thing about how great they are (this week's is Diane Keaton) and it's always lovely because everyone is talking about fun things a cool person did. But I wish we could nominate one person a week we did that for *without* them dying.

The individual disc photos for this Duane Eddy box set are an emotional journey.

Five pictures of Duane Eddy, very close up. The first four are looking right at the camera. The first is a sort of warm grin. He looks a bit more serious in the second but a hint of a smile. The third is like he’s trying to grin again but can’t quite match the original one. The fourth he’s just staring ahead with a vaguely disappointed expressing. The final one is similar to four, but he is staring off to the middle distance slightly to the side of the camera.
