Just a reminder, in case, say, something untoward happens with Bluesky, you can always find me on progressiveruin.com, see my various online shenanigans at www.mikesterling.com, and I guess you can find me on Threads if all else fails: www.threads.com/@mikesterjr

I've listened to so many of these. What a treasure.

I was searching my name and "Frank Miller's The Spirit" on Google because I was trying to track something down (yes, there were a million results, thank you) and there was an A.I. summary that included the phrase "Mike Sterling is a person, not a character." So yes, A.I. is still unreliable.

Why are we always "descending" into madness? I like to think I ascend an elaborate spiral staircase into madness.

I resent these people having eyes that probably function better than mine and are reading comics they're incapable of appreciating.

Giant multi-floored, multi-screened movie theater complex, every screen devoted to the same high-spirited film.

lets say a wizard has cursed you with a lot of money. you are going to become permanently brain damaged simply by being in possession of so much money. the only way out of it is to spend a lot of money on something ridiculous and not at all useful

what would you buy to break the curse?

young lady looking at the manga shelves: "Oh, uh, I have to leave, I have this...thing I have to go do, it was scheduled way back and I can't miss it"

me: "why are you making yourself sound as suspicious as possible"

I have one of these and it's even more gorgeous in person.

In the first issue of DC KO, the Justice League reveals that they can just locate and round up/imprison/incapacitate every major villain on Earth in a day and I’m going to pretend I never read that.

Without saying Frank Miller's THE SPIRIT (2008), name a good movie.
The Spirit mostly silhouetted against a snowy background, his bright red tie fluttering in front of him.

STAR TREK V is [mostly] good, actually

No points for guessing what #1 on the list is, especially if you've ever listened to Dr. Demento at all.

Looking at the now-posted list of songs on the Top 40 list, I literally own like 99% of them in one form or another, so I don't really NEED to listen to that last show...but there are lots of extras and tribute messages from Known Folks so it sounds like it might be fun anyway.

Discovering the final episode of the Dr. Demento show has the *unedited* version of the song "Existential Blues" is making me want to pay for that stream. (I haven't heard the unedited one since I was a child.)

Hi-Res Adventure #2: The Wizard and the Princess (C64, 1982)
A small, six-building town, of blue buildings with red roofs, stretching along a road into the horizon. The lines of the roofs don't line up with the buildings. The border is grey. On the horizons, one sees cactuses. Below in the text area, it reads "YOU ARE IN THE VILLAGE OF SERENIA. AROUND YOU IS A DESERT. COMMAND?_"

I'm a big Barker fan, so I try to keep on top of whatever he's up to when I can.

THE SCARLET GOSPELS, that's what it's called.

(There's also a novel that has Sherlock Holmes encountering the Cenobites, which *isn't* by Clive Barker but is such a weird thing I feel obligated to mention it.)

There is a *fourth* time, where Barker wrote a novel pitting his detective character Harry D'Amour against the Hellraiser Buddies. It was pretty good, I thought.

Had a dude on here make a big deal out of not following me because I dared repost a friend's post that had a still from the show. How someone can't recognize LD as Top-Flight Trek is beyond me.

I just agreed to review the thing on a whim, and it's turned into a pain in the ass. I told them to give me an address to mail it back, because I'm done with it. Or, alternatively, I could give this a review I'm sure they won't appreciate.
