I hate that it has come to this, but my biomom has been partly paralyzed due to gallbladder issues sustained throughout much of this year. She’s recovered several vital functions (speaking, eating solid food, breathing on her own), but her limbs remain incapacitated. Please help if you can.

Today I want to tell you about farmworkers.
Specifically, the child farmworkers of California's Central Valley.
As young as 12 years old.
In a blue state that is failing to ensure their health and safety.
Amazing investigation in 2 parts from our friends at @capitalandmain.bsky.social. Part I:
California’s Child Farmworkers: Exhausted, Underpaid, and Toiling in Toxic Fields - The American Prospect
State officials are failing to protect the health and safety of thousands of young field laborers, an investigation has found.

for all they scream about "importing the third world" it's the most idiotic, base tribal clannishness they aspire too as well. fuck rule of law, fuck the law, fuck rules, fuck neutral institutions, fuck universalism, fuck meritocracy.
i mean what are these "western values" these guys are so hopped up about? they are directly antagonistic to western europe. they don't believe in civil liberties. they reject democracy. and don't get me started on christianity, they hate their white neighbors almost as much as the brown ones

JD Vance's ideal America is a place with half the GDP where everyone with potential and options gets the fuck out, a shithole that people from countries with actual dynamism visit to watch chintzy 'traditional' dances before going home.

In a Kyiv bomb shelter today: a baby, a raccoon and a dog.

A man entered carrying his child, followed by a pet raccoon and a dog.
No one even looked surprised. People just shifted to make space.

If Robichaux wins on Tuesday, Dems will control the city council in Roswell.
Here's one office Dems could flip on Tuesday.

(No, it's not in TN!)

The Republican mayor of Roswell, a Georgia city of 90K, finished just one percentage point ahead of his Dem challenger on November 4. The runoff is in a few days.

Even though we're skipping the turkey today, I'm taking a moment to be thankful for this community.

From the bike advocates to the transit nerds, I’m grateful for the energy, ideas, and solidarity (most of the time) of this worldwide group. Thanks for being here. You're all good people!

Looks like Connecticut’s HB 8002 and Washington’s SB 5184 are the future of statewide parking minimum reform: going beyond focus on “where” (transit-oriented), more on “when” and “what type of building development”. Might be good for California to build on top of AB 2097 with this in 2026.

Today, #Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont signed HB 8002, which removes minimum parking mandates STATEWIDE for residential developments with less than 16 homes, and largely removes them for projects with more than 16 homes.

I’m grateful for all of the parking reformers who worked hard to pass this!

While there are often some ethical issues with making free PDFs of paywalled content, in this case it seems entirely justifiable, given the author, the subject, and the journalistic imperative to provide the widest possible audience for the verb "Michael Wolffed"
