I don’t give to or promote online fundraisers for individuals unless I know the recipient personally. Please don’t ask me to. I prefer to give money to charitable organizations. It’s not because I don’t trust individuals to use the money wisely or think them unworthy, it’s because scams are rampant.
Yeah, she’s full of shit. I have never once changed out of uniform to head home from work. I’ve never felt like a target on my way home from work or anywhere outside a combat zone. I’m also not in the habit of dirtying clothes unnecessarily.
Calling bullshit on this. There were times I changed at work to come home — keeping several uniforms at work easier, wanted to be comfortable, was meeting family out….This is look at me, fear no getting BS.

the crimes are obviously worse but there's also the constant indignities of all formal levers of government communication being taken over by people with a schoolyard bully's vocabulary and the pugilistic instinct of a drunk at the second bar that's cut them off that night

I hope it’s now (even more) obvious that having military in our streets, with instructions to ignore “stupid rules of engagement,” is not in any way intended to protect us or make us safer

To put a finer point on this whole thing: "Two people with direct knowledge of the operation" — presumably uniformed military leaders — are accusing the U.S. Secretary of Defense of personally ordering specific war crimes. That's a historic accusation.
Textbook war crime/extrajudicial killing

"Two survivors were clinging to the smoldering wreck. The Special Operations commander overseeing the Sept. 2 attack ... ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions."

Hegseth order on first Caribbean boat strike, officials say: Kill them all
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a verbal order to kill all crew members in the Sept. 2 strike on a suspected drug boat. Navy SEALs fired a second missile.

This was my biggest complaint about RDR2, a game that is seemingly universally beloved except by me.

It’s slow, boring, & not intuitive. It took an hour to get to the tutorial camp, then I HAD to hunt and couldn’t figure out where to drop off the meat. By the time I got to town I was very bored.
i'm going to finally play red dead redemption 2 (crowd cheers) by installing a bunch of mods that speed up travel and let me skip the bull shit (crowd boos) because i'm an adult with limited time for Gaming (crowd is also 35 or 36 years old and sympathizes)

This seems to be the perfect distillation of the point that putting volunteer military with no law enforcement experience on the streets of an unfamiliar city actually worsens public safety

I'm not a lawyer of course but in my personal opinion hard to see how an order to deliberate kill survivors squares with the Law of Armed Conflict, as the generals receiving this order would also have known

Who are the Ds ready to take this seriously?
So I'm pretty sure a three star knows that an order to strike alleged combatants who are hors de combat is facially illegal, in case anyone's still having any hangups on whether Bradley needs to be in the dock after this

The fundamental thing to understand about this administration is the president is a grumpy retiree. He has no interest in working anymore. Which leads to him being pissed that he is getting asked a question, pissed he has to show up and work, the scheming viziers running the show, etc..
“You’re a stupid person” — Trump lashes out at a reporter who presses him on the fact that the suspected DC shooter was actually thoroughly vetted before he was let in the US from Afghanistan

Honestly? Every day I am more and more convinced that America doesn’t deserve democracy.
TRUMP: If you look at Somalia, they are taking over Minnesota.

REPORTER: What do the Somalians have to do with this Afghan guy who shot the National Guard members?

TRUMP: Ah, nothing. But Somalians have caused a lot of trouble. They're ripping us off.

A veteran moving to the Pacific Northwest, then driving to DC to stage a mass shooting of government agents? Sounds like he assimilated into American culture pretty successfully.

A person is not a people. If you are saying ‘them’ for the actions of ‘him’, you are wrong.
And inevitably when the mob expands, ‘them’ will include ‘you’. And it will be too late for us all.

The fucking irony of this Jew to cape Third Reich white supremacist talking points BECAUSE his grandparents could assimilate into US culture when whiteness expanded just enough for them.

(One day he might find that this same conditional whiteness he was granted is more conditional+ less secure.)

I wrote about Oura's security and privacy practices earlier this year for this.weekinsecurity.com, and found:

• Oura rings *don't* end-to-end encrypt users' health data;
• Oura *can* access its users' data;
• Oura told me that the company *has* received U.S. government demands for users' data.

What utter bullshit. Trump negotiated the surrender. Trump granted the man's asylum and green card.

He worked for the CIA so the CIA is responsible for vetting him right? Did he do that work on the promise of preferential immigration?
