It's hard to help Americans left behind because so much of US identity is rooted in individualism. The average American conservative holds all three positions at once:

— Virtue signals about supporting US manufacturing
— Against raising the minimum wage
— Buys foreign imports because they're cheap

For USAmericans curious about how their politics are playing out overseas, here's a post on a local football fan forum (re: World Cup 2026) from a character who is DEFINITELY NOT "left"

As someone who would normally be quite likely to go, there are so many red flags for this WC that I'm seriously looking at avoiding it:

- Lots of travel, more so then Russia
- The world's most inept boarder force
- Dynamic pricing
- Trump
- Crazy expensive accommodation
- Batshit crazy police
- Expensive flights
- Family members unable to go due to being born in Iran. This for me is the worst point. Russia let everyone in with a valid ticket which became your visa, even Ukrainians and Americans.

It is no coincidence that "soft Maoism" is now the dominant form of radical-Left politics
