A fun hack I've found is blocking everyone who complains about the power of the block feature on here.

Go ahead. Tell me I'm living in a bubble. I'll just block you.

If you don't like it, you can block me.

CZ pleaded guilty to a criminal money laundering charge and was sentenced to prison.

But then he financed President Trump’s stablecoin and lobbied for a pardon.

Today, he got it.

If Congress does not stop this kind of corruption, it owns it.

It's almost like you have to fight for our votes like everyone else. Yes, we, especially Black women, tend to vote for harm reduction either way. But it's so much better when we're voting for someone instead of against someone. We're more likely to donate and volunteer. Too many take us for granted.
"Black organizers had noticed gaps in the campaign’s strategy for reaching Black voters. To address them, they led canvasses in working-class Black neighborhoods...By early October, Mamdani had taken a commanding lead over Cuomo among Black voters"

Remember those times i said we were headed for an epistemic crisis because bad people were gonna use deepfakes to make propaganda & conspiracy theories & destabilize consensus reality-making & how the central paradigm of "generative AI" enables, encourages, & was indeed built on this premise?

Yeah.
This person is one hundred percent correct and it’s scary af. We will never “media literacy” our way out of this as a society. We are about to reap the whirlwind when it comes to misinformation, disinformation, and informational warfare.

Raskin: "Speaker Johnson described the exercise of 1st Amendment rights across the country by 6 or 7 millions Americans as part of No Kings as a 'Hate America Rally.' The Hate America Rally happened on January 6 ... there were more than 140 police officers who were wounded."
The legacy of the Roberts court will be racism, misogyny, and corruption. If we ever make it out of this fascist regime, the next person to hold the presidency needs to be willing to pack the court. The court needs to be expanded to at least 13 justices.
Since John Roberts and Brett Kavanaugh are so desperate for a time limit on race-conscious remedies to systemic racism and they're itching to sunset the Voting Rights Act, well I give my permission. They can do it—in the year 2299.

Until then, shut the hell up.

My latest on Louisiana v. Callais:
Supreme Court Conservatives Are Tired of Hearing About Racism. Guess What? Me Too.
Will the Supreme Court and Chief Justice John Roberts finally completely gut the Voting Rights Act in Louisiana v. Callais?

If you're a renter in Wards 7 or 10, vote for the incumbent. The challengers are funded by landlords and they're anti-renter.

Soren Stevenson lost an eye during a 2020 BLM protest after he was shot by police with a foam projectile. He is running for Minneapolis city council this fall. “I do talk about police accountability because it is vital to who I am as a person,” he said.
As Minneapolis Votes, Some Struggle to Keep Police Violence in the Spotlight
Five years after George Floyd, the mayor and his allies on city council claim credit for vast improvements, but critics keep pressing the case for more discipline and police alternatives.

So wait — Republicans are insisting Trump is paying for the $250,000,000 ballroom himself (he isn’t)… even as he extorts basically the same amount from the DOJ?

Y’all will really run cover for any amount of corruption and greed huh

“Don’t believe those notices from your insurance companies informing you of your premiums tripling, that’s just Democratic propaganda.”
Mike Johnson shamelessly lies: "We strengthened Medicaid. We improved healthcare access and we lowered premiums with our legislation."

A reminder all: GO TO JURY DUTY WHEN YOU ARE SUMMONED

Yes it is disruptive of schedules but these days, juries need you
Wow. Sidney Reid, the DC woman just found not guilty of assaulting an FBI agent, issues a withering and gutsy statement on Trump through her attorneys.

"I feel sorry for the prosecutors really, who must be burdened by Trump's irrational and unfounded hatred for his fellow man."

It's a must-read:

the safety lights in dinkytown are the work of robin wonsley, and both linea palmisano and elizabeth shaffer have complained about it, so it's funny to see their ally the mayor championing @robin4mpls.bsky.social delivering for ward 2!
In just a month, Minneapolis has:
✅ Added safety lights in Dinkytown
✅ Opened hundreds of affordable homes
✅ Fought for stronger gun laws
✅ Installed a 3rd Narcan vending machine
✅ Brought thousands downtown
✅ Ranked #1 for women’s sports

And there’s more good stuff on the way.

Media outlets who refuse to describe in plain terms what the president did because they find it objectionable are lying to their audiences and running cover for the president. It's as simple as that.
The president of the United States posted a video of him defecating on the American people. Many in my profession normalized it. This is a big reason why we are where we are.

Important thread for Minneapolis folks. We should come up with a catchy name for this landlord and developer PAC that endlessly rebrands itself, the way fandom dubbed that one hotel the RadishTree. Makes it easier for people to know what you're talking about.
In Minneapolis, a network of big $ political committees—All of Mpls, We Love Mpls, and Thrive Mpls—share donors, staff, and messaging.

In July, We Love Mpls was cited by the Campaign Finance Board (CFB) for violating disclosure rules.

Here's why all of them could be in violation of MN laws. 👇

I have to keep saying it: the only rhetoric that is policed in the USA is left of center. Right-wing speech is treated as the default for “real America” and anything even remotely progressive or left is treated as aberrant, radical, and dangerous, even if it is the consensus viewpoint!
Obama sharing a video of himself wearing a crown and flying a King Obama jet that dumped shit all over Americans would have been the only thing the news networks talked about for weeks.

Meanwhile, Trump doing that very thing couldn't even warrant a discussion on the Sunday shows today.

Jacob Frey wants to draft off No Kings to chase clout. His subordinates enabled an ICE raid. He hired a lawyer from Big Lie firm Jones Day. And his campaign is being bankrolled by Republicans. He does not support protest movements. He’s there for the vibes and for himself not any cause or ideal.

The current Mpls mayor has proposed a budget that will force cuts to auditing/oversight. With more PACs working to elect him than you can count on 1 hand, it begs the question - whose interests would he serve the next 4 years that require less oversight? We have enough of this at the federal level.
This is a major good-government subversion. When the “strong mayor” came in, the checks-and-balances counterweight was a strong auditing function the Council oversaw. Frey of course is hoarding power at expense of oversight. When the council was under his control 2021-23, cronies protected him.
Minneapolis City Auditor Robert Timmerman with some unusually pointed remarks directed at Mayor Frey cutting his office's budget, which would mean firing two recently hired employees. Timmerman dinged the mayor for claiming his budget wouldn't require layoffs.

Swearing in isn’t some ceremony. You aren’t a member of Congress until it happens. He knows that.

No phones, no staff, nothing.

I had to escort her into the Capitol on Wed bc Capitol police must treat her as a public visitor until she’s sworn in. And solo visitors aren’t allowed during shutdown!
Johnson: "Grijalva should be working for her constituents right now. I don't know what she's doing. I keep seeing their political stunt videos. She should be in her office. She should be working or in the district for her constituents" (Grijalva is not in fact a Rep. b/c Johnson refuses to seat her)
Also important to note that Kennedy isn't just a eugenicist, he's also a rapist.
