The Angry Catfish bike shop is the first place I've seen that's closing for another General Strike day Jan. 30, although they're also sharing tons of Alex Pretti unity rides from around the country for Saturday

In light of today’s ongoing shittery — for example, a legal grocery deliverer detained in St. Paul archive.ph/9hXMT — take this ICE “guidance” as a PR exercise until proven real: www.reuters.com/world/ice-of...
Exclusive: ICE officers in Minnesota directed not to interact with 'agitators' in new orders
The new internal guidance reviewed by Reuters also orders U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers to only target immigrants who have criminal charges or convictions.

I’ve tried to tell out-of-towners that one of the low-key traumas of living here is these psychos ignoring all traffic laws. I’ve actually reduced my driving further just to avoid their shittery, but they can cream you on a bike or roll up on sidewalk just as easily.
Just madness out in the streets where these guys throw on their sirens and lights flying through neighborhoods at high speeds. People don't even bother pulling over for them anymore because they just do this all the time.

The city’s all-out rebellion against ICE builds on more than a century of labor and social justice organizing, explains archivist Isaac Silver.

Loved this place and followed it from where Target Center is now (it was the diner for the Twin Cities Reader staff) to Nicollet Ave to Northeast. May his memory be a blessing.
This is a gut punch. Anthony was always super friendly and a blast to talk to whenever I went into Market BBQ. A mentor celebrated almost every 49 sobriety anniversaries there, and was heart broken he couldn't this past October. He's not going to take this well. bringmethenews.com/minnesota-ne...

There isn’t any indication that immigration activity has changed in Minneapolis. In fact, this afternoon, federal immigration agents began staging at Holy Rosary Catholic Church located in East Phillips. This activity is disgraceful and creates an unsafe environment for our neighbors. 1/

Anyone in the Twin Cities know a smart kid looking for a job? I’ve got an opening for a Jr Analyst. Probably a lot of boring report creation to start but a solid opportunity to develop some real skills.

Experience working with data and an attention to detail is a must. We can teach everything else.

sure did boss, real strung out and alienating just like you asked for
Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (one of 7 Democrats who just voted to fund DHS) defends her stance.

Argues funding for ICE "is not the question." Instead, Senate Democrats have leverage for various demands.

Maybe instead of a post you could really make an impact in Alex Pretti’s honor by signing an eviction moratorium.

Alex is a hero who laid his life down for our country, our state, our neighbors. He deserves more than a post. We all deserve more than a post.

Take. Some. Action. Enough. Talk.
I made a promise to Alex’s parents to continue to tell his story.

An ICU nurse at the VA, an outdoorsman, a deeply generous, compassionate friend and family member, and a true son of Minnesota. Rest in peace, Alex.

How fucked is shit? Shit's so fucked the state AG is putting out information about how to protect your digital presence against the federal government.
Last week, my office released the following consumer alert on how Minnesotans can protect their digital privacy from DHS agents.

I urge all Minnesotans to take steps to protect themselves online from the federal government’s overreach and lawlessness.

I know we all want heroes, but I do not understand why people keep circulating this old quote. Talk to someone in Minneapolis. Has MPD intervened? No. Has anyone been fired? Again, nope.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara told his officers that they have a duty to intervene if they see ICE committing crimes and will be fired if they don't. We need a lot more of this.
