dan rogan speaking for HC security says what's happening now is sort of the opposite of 2020, when they had to enforce a mask requirement

resolution passes
February 12, 2026 at 9:08 PM
"it is completely troubling that we can't get identification," says fernando. minnesota has worked over the years since 2020 to improve trust with law enforcement, and federal agents are eroding that now
February 12, 2026 at 9:07 PM
conley says that the use of face coverings by federal agents creates a "culture of fear, diminishes trust in law enforcement, impairs public transparency, and impedes the effective functioning of County government"
February 12, 2026 at 9:05 PM
angela conley introducing 26-0091 "Regulation of face coverings in county facilities per Minn. Stat. § 624.72"

goettel says there's been a lot of misinformation floating around that the board is supporting the sheriff in her actions, so thanks fernando for bringing forward these facts about the board's existing policies
February 12, 2026 at 9:03 PM
the resolution by fernando urges ICE to "refrain from civil immigration enforcement actions in or near courthouses" like the multiple arrests in hennepin county government center in downtown minneapolis
February 12, 2026 at 9:02 PM
the resolution by fernando states that the sheriff does not have unilateral authority to enter any contracts on behalf of hennepin county and that the county has not approved a section 287(g) agreement

fernando says she gets asked if the county board will enter a BOA. she doesn’t want to do a bunch of interviews answering questions anymore, would rather pass a resolution stating answers to the questions she gets

fernando introducing 26-0069 for immediate approval. says it is “lengthy.” brings up the two arrests at the government center on skyway level

“my individual desire to author this… is because my conversations are me explaining what policies we have in existence.”
February 12, 2026 at 8:49 PM
hennepin county board chair irene fernando introducing for immediate approval resolution 26-0069 to, in part-

"Recognize the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights; reaffirm existing Hennepin County policies; support existing HCSO policy and recommend continued compliance with Minnesota statutes"
i’m at the hennepin county government center for a press conference by CPAC (civilian police accountability commission) against sheriff dawanna witt after federal agents abducted another person here yesterday. nekima levy armstrong is here too

very normal question for a random person across the country who just loves amy klobuchar to ask amy’s actual constituents
February 12, 2026 at 7:02 PM
very pressing issues, snow sculpting competition and high school football game. definitely worth her time versus spending any time with people opposing ICE

NOTHING
February 12, 2026 at 6:53 PM
you’re shifting the goal posts once your original argument was proven incorrect. you’re not getting me to waste any more time on you
February 12, 2026 at 6:53 PM
it’s easy to say this when you’re as disconnected from what’s happening on the ground as she is, i guess. it’s more important to her to attend snow sculpting events
February 12, 2026 at 6:52 PM
here’s yet another example of amy klobuchar in minnesota, not showing up on any streets against ICE. several days have passed in between the previous one too!

In Minnesota, we won't stop welcoming people from around the world. Undeterred by the ice or ICE, Stillwater, MN hosted its annual world snow competition, bringing 16 international teams that turn blocks of snow into art. Congrats to first-place Canada 🇨🇦, Mongolia and Thailand for second and third!
