I tend to fall a little more on the driver responsibility side. If you leave a child in a car, you should be put in jail for a long time. I don’t understand building advanced systems to remind you about your offspring.

I don't think we should go back to the old days. It wasn't good that child me got to buy books twice a year and even then could only pick from what B Dalton had available.
But maybe instant gratification isn't always good, and people could use a little friction in the form of a library waitlist.

again, the reason 90% of this stuff is going to die on the vine was articulated by IBM in 1979. you can hold an employee accountable if they say "invest in Bipco" and Bipco turns out to be a fraud. you can't hold claude/chatgpt/etc. accountable. and employees will figure that out, fast.

1. The hundred plus Apple shares I had in the summer of 1999 with a cost basis of around $16.
2. I was able to finish my degree by selling those shares in the summer of 1999 and paying my tuition.
