I’ve got an older powerful Intel machine with a decent gfx card. Found my MSFT FSX box. Cool! Retro gaming time! Just in time for snow.

Only one DVD present. Sigh. Can’t seem to find any kind of media replacement program at MSFT either. :-(

not that the present economic picture is rosy, but i do think that popular culture — and specifically nostalgia bait television — is a big part of the reason that our public memory of the 1970s, 1980s and even 1990s seems to miss the real economic pain that marked each of those decades.

If you call with feedback about this, good luck actually passing it along to a human.

There’s more wealth in the 13 Bay Area Counties than many countries.

Thanks, proposition 13! We can’t undo it because it would instantly turn everyone poor. We just keep doubling down on a future in which the have-nots get poor education.

Another car web site that badly needs an editor and probably some risk averse inside counsel.

“It’s not our place to determine the level of Laguna Seca’s negligence here, but what’s indisputable from the photos and videos is that something went terribly wrong that day.”

Is it just me, or do we have a significant concern about the crashworthiness of Tesla batteries at this point?

It doesn’t have to be you that gets in an accident. Apparently people can just rearrange your car while it’s sitting there and suddenly you have a fire people can’t put out easily.

I’ve got a sinking feeling, and it’s because every single one of my Normie friends thinks that once Trump is out that Democrats will just “undo everything” that Trump has done, like putting his name on the side of John Kennedy’s memorial.

They can’t even bother to keep from voting for his nominees.

My senior year advanced placement English teacher drove a black 1990 Nissan 300 ZX Twin Turbo.

This created a very thin line to walk as a 17 to 18-year-old. She was conventionally attractive, and I was a big-time car nerd, AND she trusted me to move her car for her on game nights.
QOTD: What did the cool high school teacher drive? My poli sci teacher drove a CRX and my Spanish teacher drove a Saab 900.
Thats how you could tell who the cool high school teacher was in the 80s.

I love it when my elected officials insult my intelligence by pretending that they have absolutely no bandwidth to anticipate a forgone outcome.

Like, I have to figure out what to do. If my day goes wrong every single time I wake up. We pay you to hold a higher standard. Where the fuck is that?
Who is surprised Trump's DOJ isn't releasing all of its Epstein files, despite Congress overwhelmingly passing a bill (+ Trump signing it) requiring this by today?

You know what sucks?

I need to follow a bay area meteorologist for accurate forecasting about what’s gonna happen when 200 miles and two ranges away next week because NWS Reno is so thin with updates and details now.
Wind damage potential next week: eyes on a deepening low near the coast Tuesday-Wednesday that could lead to high wind warnings and regional tree/power impacts. Will see wind and rain Sunday as well but higher wind speeds possible Tue-Wed. Stay tuned. 12/19/2025 #CAwx

My somewhat jaundice take after over a decade of being closely tied to Meta and the people that work there is that someone just came up with an idea to get revenue from “pretty great” to, “lol can you believe the rubes” levels?

I don’t think they’re actually in much trouble. Not from what I hear.

Deputy AG Blanche just said the Trump DOJ will miss the Epstein files deadline.

He says "several hundred thousand" docs will be released today, "and then over the next couple weeks, I expect several hundred thousand more."

All files are required by law to be released today.
