One of my earliest moments of radicalization was in 2005 when Larry Summers said that women biologically have less aptitude for science than men. New York Times social media guidelines prohibit expression suggesting partiality on things like ICE, execution of foreigners in fishing boats, or whether law is a thing.

Even more so because we never had cancel culture. We had the beginnings of a suggestion of cancel culture and most privileged people and every vector of institutional power treated it like the biggest moral hazard the world has ever seen and spent an astonishing amount of effort to shut it down.
