The fact that we have super wealthy and extremely stupid people trying to set themselves up as new nobles has made historical nobility, which I only know from books, far more real to me. These people were not smart, they did not rule well, and rigid hierarchies of domination are very bad.

Saw this Discourse on my timeline and wanted to reiterate that Congress *already has passed* a National Service bill in the 1950's and just never bothered to complete the paperwork for it
There’s already a National Service law on the books; Congress never bothered to finish the steps in section 8 (code of conduct, disability benefits, etc) to make it operational, or repeal the legislation

At some point I need to figure out who to vote for in the Georgia gubernatorial primary. There are 7 candidates running, some less serious than others. It looks like Bottoms has raised the most money, but Esteves has a bunch of legislative endorsements. Duncan has lots of annoying texts
