Funding for mental healthcare (and a range of other important services) for newly arrived refugees was eliminated by the Trump administration immediately upon taking office.

Despite having a domestic purpose, it was in the foreign aide budgets they cancelled.
The alleged shooter of two National Guard members was struggling with mental illness, his ability to support his family, and, according to an Afghan veteran who fought with him, his pleas for help to the CIA went unanswered.

If you’ve ever worked in professional politics and you’ve seen a clip of Stephen A. Smith talking about politics, you know what it must feel like for professional athletes who see him talking about sports.

She arrived here from Honduras when she was 7 years old.

She has no criminal record. She’s a college student.

Her parents and both her siblings live here.

With no warning, ICE arrested her, shackled her, and sent her to Honduras.

Page 1075 of the DOD's Law of War manual, under the section that talks about refusing illegal orders, directly uses the example that "firing upon the shipwrecked would be clearly illegal."

Aside from the extremely dubious question of whether the occupants of the Venezuelan boat even qualified as “combatants,” ordering a second strike from an aircraft for the sole purpose of killing defenseless people was absolutely an illegal order.

Praying for the two soldiers attacked yesterday in DC and for calm and compassion toward the tens of thousands of Afghan refugees making this country better each day.

Let us not react in a way that causes them to live in fear.

If you receive an illegal order, you have a duty to disobey.

This isn’t controversial.

A President calling for the execution of anyone who reminds service members of this oath is showing us why the duty to disobey illegal orders is so important in the first place.

Look at the date on this #Epstein email: 2011! This is not two crooks strategizing for a pardon or a sweetheart plea agreement. This is 2 crooks talking about a third crook!

Best case: The President of the United States knew about a pedophilia ring and did nothing to stop it.

Medium case: He also used his office to protect the perpetrators.

Worst case: Because he was one of the perpetrators.

Congress is going to vote to release the files.

Trump’s DOJ is gonna claim some bogus reason not to comply.

SCOTUS is gonna rule, and if they rule in favor, Trump’s DOJ is gonna delay, partially comply, and obfuscate.

Basically this is gonna drag out for months still.

My Grandfather, Ed Kander (“Pop” to me), would’ve been 102 today. He served in WW2 and was born 11/11/1923. He died just after his birthday in 2018 and he always said, “Every year on my birthday, they hold parades in my honor.”

They already have the $ to keep people from starving. They refuse.

States try to feed people. They try to block it.

Now folks can’t fly home to their parents on Thanksgiving.

All in the name of raising insurance premiums.
