New from my distributor I foolishly read on this, my supposed week off.

@ironcircuscomics.bsky.social does a lot of library business. I'm dreading that January statement.

Gang, if you have ever wanted an Iron Circus title, now would be a wonderful time for you to grab one. 💀

Oil is the most Lovecraftian thing that actually exists.
In a world where fossil fuels didn't exist, they'd be invented in fantasy as a fictional trope

oh yeah, of course the dominion of the evil sorceress powers their machines with black sludge that is literally made from death and decay, what else would they use?

Please, PLEASE, I am begging you as both a parent and someone who is sick of all this THIS, go vote for your school boards. Even if you don't have kids, that's how these reactionary dipshits got their feet in, that's where the book bans and library cuts start.

The sequel trilogy could’ve had something meaningful to say about the resurgence of fascism in the face of progressive peacetime (a year before Trump got elected) and an asshole trying to put in the work to atone could be meaningful in this time of “the male loneliness epidemic”, but, no, Baby Yoda.
Star Wars would benefit from a former Sith/Dark Jedi/Whatever the hell you want to call the evil Force Users doing the work after they renounce the Dark Side.

The older I get, the more I understand this.
Video game boss strategies? NO! THE WARMTH OF MY DOG'S BELLY!
Differences between power supply SKUs? NO! THE SMELL OF FRESH DILL!
Summaries of TikTokker beefs? NO! THE FEELING JUST BEFORE I KISSED HER FOR THE FIRST TIME!

DO NOT LET THE COMPUTER IN!
if you are asked to learn a new computer thing: DON'T!! you can fit SUNSETS and OCEAN WAVES and THE TOUCH OF HER HAND in your brain!! do not allow COMPUTER in there!!

I've been getting back into the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series after many years, and the most relatable part is how everyday objects like doors and elevators have been imbued with artificial intelligence and it just makes them obnoxious and frustrating to use and everyone hates it.

Putting a Democrat with a Nazi tattoo in the Senate normalizes Naziism in our federal politics for a long ass time.

All these recent stories about secret Nazi group chats? Anytime that happens going forward will be met with "But Platner."

It's not a purity test. Think through the consequences.

There was a time where computers were multiple times more powerful than the computer for sale the year before. It was trivial to sell. Now, REAL improvements are less than incremental. They're squeezing blood from a stone.
I think one of the saddest things about being a millennial is remembering a time when technology was advancing in a way that made life better and easier and more exciting instead of actively, intentionally worse

This is the first autumn in 5 years without new episodes of #StarTrekLowerDecks.😢 Man, I really miss the show!!! It always made me laugh (I need that now!) and it had the deepest and most outrageous callbacks. Plus: it showed that it IS totally okay to talk about chairs on starships - I feel heard!

They make up lies about paid agitators doing violence, and attach them to the name of a prominent Jewish person. This is antisemitism, and it infects every part of the GOP.
Sen. Roger Marshall: "October 18 is when the protest gets here. This will be a Soros paid-for protest for his professional protesters. The agitators show up. We'll have to get the National Guard out. Hopefully it will be peaceful. I doubt it."

Had a dream a while back in which I discovered the existence of the "Grave of the Fireflies/Super Mario World 2-in-1" for the Wii. It basically functioned as a DVD except for a "special features" section that literally only had an SNES emulator playing Mario World. It went for absurd prices on eBay

I've never played past the first hour of Final Fantasy Tactics before, even though I played the hell out of FFT Advance. The QOL updates in The Ivalice Chronicles finally make this game so much more accessible, and I'm glad to finally be experiencing this classic.
