Mayor Frey says he is already planning to veto this. A bare minimum policy.

This is in addition to his refusal to implement emergency housing vouchers & the expansion of stable homes stable schools earlier this year.

There’s no plan and no will to implement solutions that are funded.
The Minneapolis City Council approved new homeless encampment policies that will provide toilets, collect trash and allow more time before forcing out inhabitants, among other changes.
Minneapolis City Council OKs homeless encampment plan requiring bathrooms, fire extinguishers
Proponents call the ordinance more humane, but Mayor Jacob Frey opposes and might veto it.

@governorwalz.mn.gov and staff, please pay attention to what's happening here. Thousands of Minnesotans are desperately trying to end the terrible health, economic and equity impacts of Interstate 94 on our loved ones and neighbors. @mndot.mn.gov is doing the least it can toward #RethinkingI94.
Let's talk about today's #Rethinking94 project update, happening now.

MnDOT Commissioner Daubenberger acknowledges receipt of the "at-grade alternative petition," hopes for "respectful dialogue" and "strongly believes we can advance real change in the corridor." Hates to disappoint.

Why does everything have to be a drive-in destination?!?! Can we not imagine a city that is built for people who live and work here?

Always centered on a foundation that revolves around suburban and exurban benefactors, first. Transit and walkability for the actual community is a secondary concern🙄
Every time Frey Guys write op-eds they are so miserable about the city. I’m not even sure this is really a counterpoint to Steve Brandt. And even Linea Palmisano sounds skeptical of the one idea (free parking). Figlio’s ain’t walking through that door, Greg. www.startribune.com/twin-cities-...
Counterpoint | Strengthening small businesses could fix Minneapolis’ tax problems
Revitalizing Uptown would broaden the tax base and improve livability in this city as property taxes soar for homeowners, Gregory Hestness writes.

Once again, the entirety of our weather coverage is related to driving conditions. It's often too wet, too slippery, too snowy, too dark, or too windy to drive. Cars and trucks are so obviously not universally effective transportation modes. We need alternatives.

Respectfully, Congresswoman, you voted with Republicans to strip due process from immigrants and to praise Trump's ICE. This year.

Now you're upset?

Votes have consequences. Minnesotans deserve better.
ICE agents followed a Burnsville family home from the store, failed to present a warrant and entered their home with guns drawn. They detained 4 legal citizens who presented documentation, leaving a 7 year-old without parents.

A seven-year-old. Let that sink in. Trump’s ICE is out of control.

On winter bike tires, how important is it really to bed in the studs on many km of dry pavement? I've been away during our transition from dry to snow covered and just bought new winter tires.

Richard Carlbom should resign. This is disgusting. He keeps saying that we have to follow due process. The DFL is a private organization. About 0% of us in the private sector, would likely keep our jobs if these allegations and court proceedings were occurring for us. Grow some ethics.

Ice agents drew weapons on an observer in Richfield today and threatened to arrest them for impeding. Richfield cops told them that if the observer followed them for more than three blocks, ICE could arrest them.
If you’re are tracking ICE in the Twin Cities. Be careful. DHS agents are agro dipshits and get super scared when they don’t understand why someone wouldn’t want them to abduct people.

They are loose cannons is what I’m saying.

Ice disappeared a student off the Augsburg’s campus today. They attacked campus security and took someone from the outside the dorms after blocking the kids cars in and rushing the lot and security.

Things are deteriorating here in Minneapolis fast.

Winter makes a city’s transportation priorities extra obvious:

Bikelane: nonexistent on this street

Sidewalk: covered in snow with a caregiver getting a major workout pushing a stroller through

Street: perfectly cleared for drivers

We can and should do better @minneapolismn.gov .

Hey, I want to offer some helpful tips for coping with the cold for ICE folks who might have come from warmer places.

1. Wear cotton socks! Cotton is nice and soft next to your skin and will absorb your sweat so your feet stay warm. Cotton everything but ESPECIALLY socks!
Good morning to fuckers in our neighborhood kidnapping our neighbors! Can you see the city skyline? No? You’re wondering if Minneapolis burned down again overnight? Oh no, sweetie. That’s ice crystals in the air . It looks like it will get to around -8F without windchill! Please enjoy your stay!

Yes, remember to register your polite disagreement with tact and civility when the fascist thugs come to brutalize your neighbors. Thanks for really standing up for your constituents, Betty! 🙄
Let me be abundantly clear: I strongly oppose the Trump administration’s actions to stoke conflict and division in our community. People have a right to express their first amendment freedoms, including protesting actions by their government, but they have a solemn obligation to do so peacefully.
