Pardon me, but recent scholarship disputes this. The earliest attestations of the legend Eoin Mac Gille Eathain and the Tower of Broken Glass are by monks centuries after Christianization. Whatever connection the legend may have had to solstice celebrations is tenuous and speculative! ☝️🤓

I have a $300 Anova immersion circulator that (like most of the Nice Things I possess) was given to me by a friend, and while I do use it to pull off a very fancy meal occasionally (see: Wolfenoot steak), I use it somewhat more often to thaw rodents for my pythons
