I’m lucky enough to call The Six Rivers home:

Hehlkeek 'We-Roy, Baduwa’t, Wiya't, Hoopa, Nii~-li~, and The Van Duzen, which was so much worse than the other rivers that no one bothered naming it until white people came along
My favorite Twitter prompt was "RT this with your home river," so reskeet this with your home river.

Mine is the Patuxent.

it really is a logical absolute baseline, even for people who believe in immigration enforcement. they aren't doing that! they are black bagging randos off the street, illegally kicking in citizens' doors, and shooting innocent moms in the face!!
semi-regular reminder that ICE was only created in 2003

when you are asked to imagine a world without ICE, you're basically being asked to remember where you were when Lilo & Stitch came out

100%. If you want an alternative slogan you can go with "Abolish ICE before they kill again."
the only reason "abolish ICE" is seen as radical is that no one will say it but the far left. if every normie Democrat started saying it tomorrow it would move the overton window so far you'd have to squint to find it. my kingdom for leaders who understand they can shape public opinion.
Democrats officially going all in on the mealy mouthed “ICE needs training” narrative.

No. ABOLISH ICE.

this might be true, but also, important to note part of the divide is that some Dems thought "defund the police" and "abolish the police" were rhetorical flourishes, not concrete demands, and so they shrugged them off as "bad slogans" that had to be quieted, not political proposals to argue with
Moderate Dems are just never going to get on board with abolish ICE, especially after abolish-coded rhetoric in 2020 mostly failed, and given their consistent conservatism on immigration enforcement. So might as well as at least try to figure out what other pathways are out there.

If you can substitute "hungry ghost trapped in a jar" for "AI" in a sentence it's probably a valid use case for LLMs. Take "I have a bunch of hungry ghosts in jars, they mainly write SQL queries for me". Sure. Reasonable use case.

"My girlfriend is a hungry ghost I trapped in a jar"? No. Deranged.

Like, there is a very obvious reason why Democrats cannot even parse the idea of restricting the authority of state security forces. Their entire philosophy and leadership holds the axiom that the humanity of black people is up for debate, and only a wise compromise among white people can manage it.
It's a layup until you're no longer allowed to use arbitrary and unlimited police violence to suppress socialism and—in particular, and especially—Black liberation.

Seems notable that a few days after DHS/ICE murdered a woman and called her a domestic terrorist, while calling protesters extremists and radicals, they are posting actual neo-Nazi music
DHS posted a straight up neo-Nazi song to its Instagram.

I write about this song in my book, describing the white supremacist group Patriot Front singing “By God We’ll Have Our Home Again” while in the back of a UHaul truck after marching in DC

minneapolis is under siege and it is taking basically all of ICE’s manpower

they cannot replicate this across the country and they aren’t close to recruiting the kind of numbers they’d need to even get close

they are, flatly, not going to be able to get there

There should be public dialogue from Dem leaders about what the medium-long term political strategy against Trumpism is. They don't want impeachment (not enough votes) so what can a Dem congress do that's more effective? Is there a philosophy other than "Vote for us and hope something good happens?"
