Incidentally, I’ve been chafing a bit at the “No Kings” thing, because there are loads of monarchies that have more limits on executive power than the US does, but it has the great advantage that it makes Americans who want to oppose it sound, well, unamerican….

The amount of rendering software we have to learn at school is nuts. Ive already learned cad, sketch-up, rhino, grasshopper, photoshop, indesign, and that is all just year one, next year I have to learn Blender, Enscape, and VR for architecture. It's fucking frying me.

I stand firmly in my belief that Fort Wayne is a great town where you can still buy a reasonable house for $250k right next to a beautiful bikeable greenway that will take you to both a Saarinen campus and fabulous Burmese food

I can't even figure out the benefit of keeping car traffic on the rest of it while stopping at Illinois, other than the complete inability to accept that it's ok to go fully car free. brain worms win again.

I think it is still supposed to allow car traffic woonerf style, but the way georgia has functioned (poorly, full of parked cars) as a car-lite space I'm not optimistic

will never not be jealous that fort wayne managed to avoid any freeways cutting through town, the connectedness of the neighborhoods is not perfect due to industrial uses but is 20 times better than Indy. also, the river running right through downtown *sigh*

watching a very cool historic preservation presentation on fort wayne and it's just too bad that a big city like that can create a pedestrian-only street downtown. maybe someday a backwater like Indianapolis can make something like that happen 🙏
