99% of complaints about things being better in the past boil down to "you miss not having adult responsibilities". The other 1% is that everything is manufactured to break after two years now.
Because you're an adult you fucking muppet. You gotta pay the magic forward.

This is one of those things that I think is quietly important – when these people are talking shit about cities, Portland or Minneapolis or New York or Charlotte or wherever, you have to loudly say, “no, fuck you, you’re lying, that town and its people whip ass and you’re the asshole”

This is genuinely massive, like earth-shakingly big in terms of pushing back the anti-trans exclusion drive.

The anti-trans movement have lost a case they didn't expect to lose and really couldn't afford to.

I can't imagine them not appealing (near infinite money) but now the precedent exists.

Normalizing corruption isn't a partisan project for Trump. The important thing is not whether the Menendezes and Cuellars of the world are on the Trump Train - it's establishing that corruption is no longer a thing that's worth prosecuting.

As I posted earlier, this campaign is similar to panic about "boys in girls' sports" and, as commenters pointed out, "welfare queens"—and refugees! And DEI! Conservatives try to use outlier scenarios to stoke resentment and suspicion about any system that extends benefits to marginalized people.
One of the biggest impacts I’ve seen from the unproven idea that people are wrongfully using disability accommodations is that people stop trusting people with disabilities and in fact further restrict, remove, and demonize accommodations for people with disabilities in general

Skill issue the pipeline: Soft relaunch discrimination by targeting trans people. Continue devaluing the accomplishments of women to the point any woman excelling at sports might be trans. Next thing you know competitive advantage talks come back for race. 🤷🏿‍♂️
sexism like this—that any man could beat any woman at sport just by virtue of sex—is the root of why the "trans women in sport" wedge is so successful among cis men and women

The "Gaza ceasefire" is a period of reduced intensity in terms of Israeli attacks.
For the Israeli government this is merely a lull until the genocide can be resumed with full strength, with the aim of mass ethnic cleansing.
Any other plans would have to be imposed on Israel.

yeah, the right thrives on sites where making people miserable is rewarded by the algorithm.
The real question is not "Why is Bluesky so left-coded," the real question is "Why can't the right exist in a social media environment without algorithmic assistance, where people can ignore them"

As folks have noted in the replies, the student's mother is something of a MAGA public figure (and lawyer).

This is obviously a purposeful stunt to attack a trans graduate student, which is sick af and must be opposed on the grounds.

It is simultaneously an assault on university pedagogy.
