My opinion of the New York Times is distinctly outside the mainstream among journalists. Most think NYT is mostly excellent journalism with some flaws and blind spots, I think it's mostly a vehicle for laundering right wing propaganda with some excellent people who put out good work.
I just learned that this incredibly flawed story was put on the front page of the newspaper, and that certainly seems like an editorial choice

someone threw a little tantrum about this in my mentions earlier and im still kind of annoyed at how entitled people are to demand i stop sincerely expressing my feelings about a political party that is explicitly collaborating with fascists because i will suppress voter turnout by not shutting up
if democrats think trans people's lives are worth sacrificing then i don't think they get to whine about losing their votes too

Bit depressing to think about if somehow there are more elections and somehow Democrats get into power that no one will be prosecuted or held to account bc consultants will say its too politically risky again and the cycle after that we'll do it all over again and even worse again.
