Well it didn't say "trans" it said "nonbinary", and that's kind of my point: it doesn't really mean "if you're nonbinary you can pick", it means "if you're nonbinary pick the one that won't freak people out please": "men and nonbinary men", etc

My most firmly held political belief is that it should be illegal to refer to wet wipes as "flushable" considering the havoc they wreak on our sewer systems. It is entirely coincidental that Marxist-Leninism is the only way to achieve this.

I have long said people don't be hatin Chief Justice John Roberts as much as they should be hatin Chief Justice John Roberts
“Roberts has been embedding white-dominant authoritarianism into the country’s source code for two decades. It’s impossible to imagine today’s crisis without the Roberts court having first undermined the foundations of our democracy.”

This all on the leader of the MAGA #scotus ↘️
This is all John Roberts’ fault
Trump owes his corrupt and abusive reign to one man.

The neat thing about this is that it’s arguably a fourfold violation of the First Amendment: they are prohibiting a exercise of religion, consisting of speech in a peaceable assembly, implicitly petitioning the government. If they only had a mimeograph machine they could run the table.

With Sliwa being salient, my daughter was asking about the Guardian Angels. And it occurred to me that as far as I can recall, there weren’t any big stories from the 80s about the GA doing anything awful. For a vigilante organization, that seems pretty impressive.

I couldn’t be home on Friday for trick-or-treating, so I left my pet spider Arnold guarding a bowl of candy. When I got home, Zohran had fliered him.

i will defend to the death my country, the New York City Subway System 🫡
Happy 121st birthday to the NYC Subway, opened on this day in 1904. Like the city itself, you can’t truly love it until there are days where you hate it. But I will always be grateful for it every one of those days.

These actions by Trump’s ICE don’t make New Yorkers safer. They only undermine public safety, waste our tax dollars, and create chaos in our communities.

This federal overreach and abuse of power by Trump must end. Hands off NYC! www.amny.com/news/ice-age...

I am really enjoying Sliwa’s presence in the public eye. Could Mayor Mamdani create an NYC office for Parade Coordination, and appoint Sliwa the ceremonial head?

Life tenure under Article III, and a daily work life where literally everyone you meet defers to you, makes for people who are hard to subtly pressure into anything. There’s literally nothing you can do to a federal judge short of actual interpersonal violence.
District court judges, appointed by presidents from Reagan to Biden (including Trump I), seem to understand the assignment more than most law firms. This is curious because the data shows that lawyers as a whole are more liberal on average than federal judges
Perry asks directly whether the feds started the alleged violence in Chicago.

She asks whether it matters if the inability to execute the law was "caused by the federal agents."

My children introduced me to this video. It’s the best thing Adams has ever done.
In honor of Eric Adams dropping out, I'm now resharing my all-time favorite bit of Eric Adams content

for years, this thing was like my video from The Ring, where I had to get other people to watch it in order for me to stay alive

enjoy

I really wish I could disagree, but I think this thread accurately states the situation we’re in.
There is no measured way to say what I am about to say.

If the Supreme Court agrees with the Trump administration to end birthright citizenship, we must end this current Supreme Court.

I do not say this lightly.

Espaillat, my rep, voted against. I am quietly assuming it’s because I phoned his office about it.
95 democrats, including @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social voted to "honor" the life of charlie kirk, who called for joe biden to be killed and said black women like justice ketanji brown jackson are unqualified affirmative action hires.

shame.

I just called Hochul’s office, told her how much I supported her recent forthright statements in support of state lawmakers getting arrested at immigration court and standing up for NYers generally, and asked her to accept Jacobs’ offer to resign. It was nice being able to open with sincere praise.
She should do it. I was at a Dem club in Harlem with a candidate when the IDC was at the height of its power and when club members asked him WTF they were doing caucusing with Republicans, he condescendingly told them they didn’t know how Albany worked.
New York Democratic Party Chair Jay Jacobs says he will resign from his post if Gov. Kathy Hochul requests it — a day after he broke with her by announcing he wouldn’t endorse Mamdani.
