What if we did it* in the big duck?

*dressed the cat in a bonnet & pushed it around in a pram, drank hot sauce straight out of the bottle, put on a amateur dramatic production of You Rang M’Lord in full period costume, did a harrowing but beautiful interpretive dance to Michael Nyman’s Fish Beach

This pudding page puffin feels very much like it’s all perfectly primed and hot to go for a first thing Monday morning “how your email found me” post or maybe just the ever-relevant, always-ready one word caption MOOD
Detail from a 1970s puffin post magazine which depicts a black and white drawing of a cartoon puffin’s head as cereal bowl filled with scattered letters that form the words pudding page, with a grey spoon leaning against the side

Oh how wonderful! I wish I had seen it

I love that reading of it, freed of my own prejudice against the moon as an imagined pick up artist. Yes, infinitely preferable, thank you

Can’t help but read “who do you look like?” with a rueful, wryly amused, head-shaking “dear, oh dear, oh dear” intonation.
Anyway, despite behind several decades too late to win one of six paintboxes, perhaps I will try this as a drawing exercise to fend off the Sunday schoolheart soulsink
Detail from a page of a 1970s puffin post magazine which reads Young Puffin competition what do you look like, with an excellent cartoon illustration in black and white of a human head split into smiling and crying halves, over text that reads We want you to draw or paint a two-faced picture of yourself - we want one picture of you looking happy and chirpy and one looking cross and gloomy and then stick them side by side. PRIZES 6 PAINT BOXES.

Oh, it’s a marvel! I’ve watched it a few times & thought about it a lot in relation to working with the Adamson Collection.
Reckon it’s a really extraordinary representation of what it’s like to experience non-consensus based reality & feels related to Donald Crowhurst’s writings towards the end

Isn’t it divine!?!? I hope she’s having the most wonderful life
regretteruane.bsky.social
Oh I really, really hope it is! That would be wonder on wonder, a true delight in this world

I hope wherever Deborah is now, she’s having an absolutely excellent life

You know when you have an idea of a writer as a person & it’s warm & fond & dares to be a little familiar as well as admiring? Well I finally got my hands on this (audio, bc USA) & it’s as widely generous, careful & real as I could have hoped. Frank & lovely. Thank you, @regretteruane.bsky.social
Book cover: Birding by Rose Ruane. It’s a lovely retro-coloured image of a person in pistachio green clothes holding a pistachio green soft ice cream cone.

Oh wow! Nicola, I am so incredibly moved and grateful to you for listening and saying such wonderful generous kind words about me and Birding.
Truly, the most glorious gift and such an appreciated one. You’ve really filled my heart with joy. Thank you so so very very much❤️❤️❤️

Excellently threatening energy from Deborah Findlay’s entry to the Puffin Post’s Concrete Poetry Competition.
A superb, subtle, sarcastic little poetic diss to the moon
Detail from a page from puffin post magazine black text on white reads, Deborah finally 13, the moon above a black outline of a crescent moon inside which is a poem that reads “poor moon, will you really shine so well when men step upon you and break your spell” under which italicised text reads a black and white copy of a charming painting by Deborah Findlay
