If you rebooted RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK today with the same temporal margins, it’d be set in the 1980s. Neo-Nazi punks would have their faces melted by the opening of a forbidden arcade cabinet at the KB Toys at your local mall. Indiana Jones would wear a Hawaiian shirt and Chuck Taylor sneakers.
We are now further away from the theatrical release of Raiders of the Lost Ark (June 12, 1981) than it was from the year it takes place in (1936). We have reached the Indiana Jones event horizon.

i think scissorman in the clock tower video game is just what happens if you get a giant pair of scissors without the regulating power of mayorship, which helps you control and channel the powers of the giant scissors. even with this, many mayors still succumb to the corruption of the scissors

I keep saying, Google intentionally making its search worse is a world-historical fumble, and it's a huge opportunity for so many others across the internet, if they'll just seize it..
Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea

It's time to end the arguments, they've gone on much too long. Here is the definitive ranking of Star Wars:

3. Star Wars (video game, 1983)

This is my fault! I trusted the Malwarebytes article and saw how it broke my own email. I've deleted my original post so it can't spread anymore and posted this correction. I regret the error!
since the "google is now training gemini on your email contents" thing keeps bumping around here: it's _not happening_. I say this not to defend google but because I know a lot of people that have broken their filtering and made their lives much more annoying from sheer misinformation.
The malwarebytes Google opting-your-emails-into-ai-training thing is not true. The post is based on one bad tweet.

I know anti-tech lamenting is a Bluesky core principle, but please use the same judgement you would for any other clickbait.

By M$DNC shitlib logic, Russian teens are villains when they're drafted by Putin, who I do not support, for a Ukrainian invasion, which I do not support... but they're victims when they're drafted by Jeffrey Epstein, who I do not support, for adult/teen sex, which I do support.

The SVU episode about Epstein and Ghislaine, made because the story was well-known enough that people would watch it and immediately know it was “ripped from the headlines”, aired on February 2, 2011
"Convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein" is a phrase that first appeared in newspapers in March 2011 and appeared regularly from that point onward. it is INCONCEIVABLE to me that this many people were still associating with him!!
