I’d be more sympathetic to “Nuzzi and Lizza are uniquely bad and not at all representative of political reporters in general” if political reporters haven’t spent the past 10 years torching their own credibility all the way back to the full court press on Hillary’s emails.

I think it’s pretty clear at this point that one of the main impacts of LLMs is to disrupt thinking: to make it so that far too many people never properly learn how to do it, and then to control the output so there are thoughts that people never learn how to think.

Meanwhile, in addition to all the people mystified by Trump’s reaction, we have a related crowd who are like “I’m really puzzled that this guy—who recently got himself elected Mayor of New York as a 34 year old socialist Muslim—approached his meeting with Trump in a politically savvy manner”.

Thriving in independent media for 25 years, without a) getting hoovered into some larger media org & subsequently axed, b) getting ruined by some hedge fund guy, c) falling afoul of any short-lived "pivot to video" style trends, or d) going broke...

... is a genuinely remarkable achievement! Kudos.

If high schools and elite colleges are holding students and teachers accountable for AP test results, you have a strong incentive to fix this problem.

Amon white people, the correlation between racial resentment and their vote is much, much stronger than between educational attainment and political alignment.

In fact, if you control for racial resentment, education polarization basically disappears.
