A weird type of little-c conservatism emerging from the left is essentially the denial of dynamic social systems and the insistence that dynamism is a defect of capitalism we could stop if only we had the perfect sociopolitical structure to ensure perfect harmonious stasis
today is one of those days when I remember that a lot of leftists sincerely believe fictional stories depicting violence/crime/disorder just fundamentally are lying to people to portray the world as a more harsh place than it is and that the answer to most bad hypotheticals is "that wouldn't happen"

The autocratic structure of modern corporate governance has shown itself 1) actively hostile to democracy and 2) mostly selects for idiotic megalomaniacs. Any company over a certain size should be mandated by law to have their leadership elected by their workers, not shareholders.

I was obsessively, autistically interested in the Titanic disaster as a child.
I never watched the film Titanic, nor did I ever want to. I was *just* interested in the physics and engineering behind it.

My 7 year old likes the film, but he only watches the bit where it sails off, then fast forwards to when it sinks. Doesn’t care about anything else, probably the best way to watch the film
