One of the MOST significant things about this — and an important lesson to highlight, not obscure, for national/international readers — is how widespread local opposition is. I’ve never seen more normal folks involved. The overwhelming broad consensus local support lifts me up when I let it.
NYT writers referring to moms outside of their schools watching for ICE as "activists" is stupid and makes their reporters look like Cletuses. Local reporters know because their friends & loved ones are out there doing the same.

Greenland or Minnesota?

Either one, they want us to give in in advance. Do not.
"The 11th Airborne troops were recalled to base on Friday, amid the long holiday weekend, to stand by as a so-called quick reaction force, a rapid-deployment force, according to an internal notice to the unit's leadership, reviewed by ABC News."

I don’t want to say it’s worse in Minnesota than you’ve heard because I don’t know what all you’ve heard.

But I am certain it’s not better than you’ve heard.

Just a reminder - he doesn't actually have the legal power to do this
New tariff just dropped.

Americans set to pay an additional 10% tax on all goods from Germany, the UK, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland.

It starts in two weeks, rising to 25% by June.

(Aside: A trade war with one EU country is a trade war with the entire EU).

I just want people to know that there is no active insurrection, no regular protests, no rioting or whatever. The only time people are in the streets is when masked armed ICE thugs descend on one of our neighbors to disappear them as part of a federal government-led ethnic cleansing campaign.

Trump's blatant selling of pardons is the clearest path to impeaching Trump. It's a clear abuse of power for self-enrichment. It's indefensible. And, the WSJ and NYT have done the legwork. Democrats should be screaming about it everyday. Trump is literally selling the presidency for personal gain.

If you want to read some excellent fiction about people working together and looking out for each other in hard times, "The Year Without Sunshine" is a very good choice, as many have said lately.

I work for a big, pretty small 'c' conservative company, with people all around the country.

I cannot stress enough how much people *hate* what is going on when I describe it to them. I'm not worried.
Good luck, there’s hundreds of thousand of us out in the streets trying to keep our neighbors safe. That Homan would think this scares us shows how weak they really are. Many of us have steeled ourselves already that we may be killed by our own government and we are still out there every day.
They're going to start using the Kirk witch hunt strategy.

I cannot stress to you how little to no bait is being taken in Minnesota in any sense.

This shit is a farce.

This is your reminder that Hungarian-Jewish scientist George de Hevesy dissolved two Nobel Prizes in aqua regia to keep them out of the hands of the Nazis.

He then left the dissolved solution on his shelf and fled to Sweden.

(After the war he un-dissolved the gold and the prizes were re-cast.)

The people of Minneapolis are highly engaged in defending our community from the federal occupation. A meeting in the Whittier neighborhood last night required three overflow rooms, with speakers having to go room to room to make sure everyone heard them. 838 people at Whittier Elementary.

I’ve started using the term “ethnic cleansing campaign” to describe the ICE occupation here in Minnesota. This is deliberate because the reality on the ground is that, at a given moment, any non-white person can be kidnapped by masked federal paramilitaries regardless of their constitutional rights.

I'm scared about escalating violence too, but we gain absolutely nothing by even giving the Insurrection Act a second thought.

He wants the threat of it to get us to stop successfully resisting. Miller wants to send in troops to crack heads no matter what we do.
