The sidewalks are in bad shape out there

It seems a lot of people are either out of town or didn’t think this was enough to shovel. These slick sidewalks are going to be rough for anyone trying to roll over them tomorrow.

Bike Parking Review: MN Orchestra

The treble clef bike racks are an A+ in my book. They fit perfectly with the location, there are a handful of them, and there are plenty of places on each rack to lock, making them usable with any bike.

Uber and Lyft only added more cars to our streets

DoorDash and Ubereats added even more

Waymo will just do the same while human labor continues to fight for the the dwindling scraps of money

“When the system starts to crack, we’ll have to be ready to give it all back”
Minneapolis and Minnesota need to regulate robotaxis, now.
Waymo privatized another public street:

Chanel approaching 4th, San Francisco

Possibly queued for a Billie Eilish show at Chase Center ~half mile away.

The light rail train on 4th seen passing in front of this roboherd has more passenger capacity than all of them combined.

Bike Parking Review at Open Book/Milkweed: A

There are four custom locks with multiple spots to lock to. Design fits the space (the other locks say write, create, and explore)

*i walked here so I don’t have a bike to lock

If we fight on safety, I believe we will lose.

Look at what we let Amazon do to the department stores downtown. Look at our vacant skyway storefronts. Look at your property tax increase.

If we allow this technology to steal from our local economy, we must make them pay a premium to operate here
A few things:
1. This is a labor issue and will funnel what was once driver money to tech companies
2. This adds vehicles to roads and will likely increase traffic as they roam looking for passengers
3. I am not as concerned as others seem to be around safety concerns (once tested in snow)
Waymo, the driverless ride-hailing company, is bringing its fleet of autonomous electric vehicles to Minneapolis.
