Minnesotans, we’ve been through a lot.

And I believe this moment calls for grit, resilience, and faith in each other.

I believe we must stand up for what’s right. And fix what’s wrong.

Today, I’m announcing my candidacy for Governor. youtu.be/SiV3xVkX-kg

Trump promised lower costs. Instead he delivered the opposite: higher costs, chaos, and corruption.

This November’s election is an opportunity for us to stand up and do what is right for our state and our country.

Minnesota. If we believe good can prevail – it will.

This campaign is born out of one of the most difficult times for our state. But in those hard moments, Minnesota doesn’t look away or give up — we stand up and get involved.

We will never give up on this democracy or each other.

Bruce Springsteen singing his new song "Streets of Minneapolis" at our very own First Avenue. A place where amazing artists like Prince got their start - this venue means so much to our state and it's incredible to see Bruce bring our community together.

My job is to stand my ground. Fix what’s broken. Make life better for people.

This is a hard moment for our state — which only makes it more important.

Don’t look down. Don’t look away from each other.

Look to the North Star. If we believe good can prevail, it will.

I like my job.

But I love Minnesota more than any job.

This campaign is for people who believe in something bigger than ourselves.

I took to the Senate floor to honor Renee Good and Alex Pretti, two good people who should both be alive today.

Renee leaves behind three children. Her wife said “kindness radiated out of her…she literally sparkled.”

Alex was a VA ICU nurse who cared for our veterans, often in their final hours.

Minnesota has been the center of America’s heartbreak over the last month. But we’ve also been the center of America’s courage and hope. I feel deep gratitude for the people of our state who stood up and who are still standing up.

Thank you Bruce Springsteen for “Streets of Minneapolis,” a powerful tribute to Renee Good and Alex Pretti and to the strength of the people of Minnesota.

Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and many local shops are facing real hardship right now. I'm glad to see the Minneapolis Foundation stepping up to help those hit hardest.

Excited to see Shelley Buck headed to the Minnesota House of Representatives after her special election win last night! She’s a proven leader and champion for working families who will be a strong voice for Woodbury and Maplewood.

Congratulations to Meg Luger-Nikolai on her special election win for the Minnesota House! She will be a strong voice for working families in St. Paul and across the state.

Officer Panning is absolutely right: ICE’s presence is making our communities less safe and making local law enforcement’s jobs more difficult.
Here is the letter from a Minnesota police officer reflecting the values of law enforcement officers of integrity.

Just spoke with Congresswoman Omar and I am glad she is safe. Threats, physical attacks and intimidation have no place in our democracy.
I’m ok. I’m a survivor so this small agitator isn’t going to intimidate me from doing my work.

I don’t let bullies win.

Grateful to my incredible constituents who rallied behind me. Minnesota strong.

Micayla Pretti with moving words about her older brother Alex Pretti. “Alex was kind, generous, and had a way of lighting up every room he walked into. He was incredibly intelligent and deeply passionate, and he made people feel safe. But most importantly, he was my brother."

We don't have to agree on everything, but can we all agree that what ICE is doing in Minnesota is wrong? A passionate appeal from Jimmy Kimmel.

Alex Pretti spent his days caring for veterans as an ICU nurse at the VA.

From a veteran he cared for: “He treated every vet like they were his only patient. … He wanted to make a difference.”

People across Minnesota (50,000 strong last Friday) and Police Chiefs, mayors, business and community leaders have joined together and sent the White House a message: Get ICE out of our state.

Minnesotans are using their voices and showing the world how to stand up for our democracy.

“Ordering the head of a agency to appear is an extraordinary step,” wrote Chief Judge Schiltz, a former clerk for Justice Scalia. “But the extent of ICE’s violation of court orders is likewise extraordinary, and lesser measures have been tried and failed.”

Minnesota has been the center of America’s heartbreak—but we are also the center of America’s courage and hope.

Ordinary people have done extraordinary things: they have stood up, marched, brought food to their neighbors, and they have not blinked.

I am so proud of our state.

Both the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association and the International Association of Chiefs of Police have joined mayors, business leaders, and community voices in speaking out about the dangerous ICE surge in Minnesota.

It’s clear that ICE needs to leave our state. Now.
