I wrote about the glaciers. A study out today projects their future, and it is grim.
When the Glaciers Go, They Won't Come Back
Shaving every tenth of a degree off whatever final thermometer number we end up at means a few more glaciers hanging on, diminished perhaps, but a glacier still, with room to grow.

The devastation I feel about this attack on science in particular is hard to cope with. It’s like watching my dad die all over again. I would do anything to spare someone a death via pancreatic cancer.
A tiny trial in New York has shown that personalized mRNA vaccines can provoke massive, lasting immune responses against pancreatic cancer, even as sweeping federal cuts now threaten the fragile labs required to produce them.

san antonio has a publicly owned energy utility, and after the great freeze, while other texans had utility bills that were thousands of dollars, CPS stretched our costs over the next 10 years, so no one got more than an added dollar of charges

publicly owned utilities and co-ops are where it’s at

It’s franchise fascism anywhere they need or want to take power they set up a franchise and expand into all cognitive markets.

Rhetoric like this dehumanizes the relationship between nursing mothers and their babies and positions women as mere producers of a commodity. It’s disturbing at a visceral level for that reason, among the many others already articulated.

It's not a fucking loss. The USPS is a SERVICE. That's what the service COST. That there was ever a time when it was self-sustaining is the anomaly. Fuck this stupid framing.
🚨SCOOP: Amazon is preparing to sever ties with USPS and expand its shipping network as a true coast-to-coast rival.

It could cost USPS more than *$6 billion* a year in lost revenue, and lead Amazon to dominate yet another facet of the economy.

USPS posted a *$9 billion* loss in 2025.

it's because companies have invested billions into this technology and they need everyone to use it to make a profit.

America does not have capital punishment for selling or smuggling drugs and none of these people were arrested or tried. There could have been mountains of cocaine in open view on the deck of the boats and it still would have been murder of unarmed civilians.
Rand Paul just posted this letter from the Coast Guard confirming that 1/4 of the boats they stop carry no contraband. The likelihood that Hegseth & Bradley ordered the murder of innocent civilians is very high.

Even without covid, it's a baby. One of my daughters nearly died because someone came around our house with a cold and it got onto her heart. You have to be really careful with babies this is basic stuff.
A friend with a new baby asked guests to mask in order to hold her baby. A relative refused to mask & broke down in tears about her "restrictions"

As a reminder, babies <6 months have the 2nd highest hospitalization rate from Covid after adults 75+ & are too young to be vaxxed
