imagine letting this fucking garbage in your city
At least five FUBARed Waymo robots:

Market & Guerrero, SF

One is a problem, two a mistake, five a major ops screw up. Waymo has never fixed their cascading failure problem. Maybe they don't know how.

Fundamentally unfit for service at scale until they do, IMO.

That’s why conservatives are pouring millions intro trad-wife bullshit and birth control disinformation. They need young women to believe the erosion of their rights is a good thing, actually!

It’s not enough to oppress women—they want us ^grateful* for it. (We’re so much prettier when we smile.)

Why decline all these chances to defend feminism? Because to participate would be accepting the premise that our rights and humanity are up for debate in the first place.

Once you’ve conceded that it’s reasonable to ask whether women’s equality was a mistake, you’ve already lost.

Because it’s not just Bari Weiss’ CBS asking this question—in the last few months, I’ve been approached by half a dozen different shows looking to ‘debate’ the same topic.

I even got a request from NPR-distributed “Open to Debate” to see if I’d weigh in on “Has Feminism Hurt Women?”

Around half of San Francisco is without power right now and something like 1/3rd of intersections I drove through had waymos stopped in the middle of them making a dangerous situation even worse.

Do not let Waymo into your city.

I have always enjoyed Norman Rockwell’s painting of Union Station in the Christmas season. It’s like an avuncular bourgeois Bruegel, in the best sense.

The clearest sign that Americans are propagandized to the gills is that a majority of voters will, with a straight face, still tell you that Republicans are better for business.
Jim Beam Whiskey will shut its distillery for 2026 thanks to plummeting sales amid retaliatory tariffs from the European Union after Trump's tariffs and a bourbon boycott from Canada.

One hot topic of debate at TPUSA this weekend has been the Israeli attack on the USS Liberty in 1967. If you’re like most normal Americans, you’ve probably never heard of this event. If you are or have ever been a neo-Nazi, then this is an event you know A WHOLE LOT about.

There’s a person who told writers that they should “show, don’t tell” and a lot of manga writers in particular took that to mean that every conversation should be someone failing to explain any aspect of the fantasy to the protagonist/audience, while getting angry that no one understands

2. What he says about climate is patently false (more on that later) but to the extent he's saying "politicians shouldn't do the right thing unless it's popular", I'd note only that that is a toddlers view of leadership. If the popular kids are mean, should you be mean?

This Yglesias piece in the NYT is horrifically bad. Almost every "fact" it cites is provably false. At best it is cocktail party banter from a pundit who knows nothing of energy. At worst, it was cut/paste from oil industry talking points. So, a rebuttal: www.nytimes.com/2025/12/18/o...

There are some people who it’s very clear are only “left” because they, themselves, are marginalized and are acting in their own self-interest and it’s been so weird to realize over the past decade that a comedian I used to idolize is one of them
Jessica Kirson admitted that she made a mistake by performing in Saudia Arabia, but "I thought seeing an open lesbian comedian might help LGBTQ+ people in Saudi Arabia feel seen and valued” is still 10000x a better reason than Chappelle's "I wanted an audience that shares my bigotry."

I used to work in a crisp (potato chip) factory, and the cheese and onion flavour was mildly hallucinogenic in its concentrated form if inhaled.
Everyone has a friend who worked in a factory. I would like to hear their stories. My friend's story from the egg factory he worked in is that at the end of the day they'd sweep up the broken eggs that had fallen off the packing line, put them through a big sieve and send them to Mr Kipling.
