I’m thinking I might DNF my current book. Not because it’s bad or I disagree with the message or anything. But 58 pages in, it doesn’t feel like it’s going anywhere. No stakes, no clear goals, no enticing mystery—at least not from my perspective, anyway. Not really my sort of book.

I’ve never actually played proper D&D.
I’ve played Baldur’s Gate 3, I’ve watched Critical Role, and for a short time at university I was even part of a Dark Heresy group (though I had no idea what I was doing). But not D&D itself.
I do have an idea for a character. And I’d like to play it someday.
