Trump said today he'll be pardoning former Honduran President Juan Hernandez, who was convicted of drug trafficking and weapons charges in 2024 and sentenced to 45 years in prison.

Waging a drug war on Venezuela while pardoning a narco-terrorist takes hypocrisy to a level once thought impossible.

He Killed for the CIA in Afghanistan. Trump Blames Afghan Culture Instead of Langley’s
After the National Guard shooting, the US needs to reckon with how its legacy of global violence inevitably comes home. Stephen Miller wants to do anything but.

🟠I've been rewatching the Defunctland charting Ferris wheel through Epcot and it's reminding me how different Disney used to be considered in the 90s and 2000s? Like it feels weird cause back in the 90s he was absolutely thought of a secretive megalomaniacal weirdo who probably froze himself

Part of the reason this faded out as I recall was the company downplaying EPCOT as much as possible, like by the 2000s it was a joke that it was the "boring one" so it also being the weirdo "CEO tried to run his own city"
Everything about the original Epcot plan used to get brought up as like proof Walt Disney was out of his fucking coconut, like Bioshock was SUPER trading on Disney real-world vibes and the parks played into this ALL the time trying to pitch as like one mans dream given form

FUN FACT: In 1973, Elton John charged onstage during a Stooges concert, wearing a gorilla costume. John picked up and briefly carried Iggy Pop around the stage. Pop was very high at the time and completely unaware that his pal Ben Edmonds had arranged the prank with John.

4 FOR TEXAS (Robert Aldrich, 1963) has a truly incongruent cast.
A Romantic Western starring Dean Martin & Ursula Andress, Frank SInatra & Anita Ekberg, it costars Charles Bronson, Jack Elam, Richard Jaeckel, Arthur Godfrey, Victor Buono, Mike Mazurki, and the Three Stooges.

Shemp was the only Howard brother with a significant Hollywood career apart from The Three Stooges. Although his work was often edited to the bone in post, most of his costars (including Lou Costello and W. C. Fields) claimed that he was always hilariously funny on set.

Allan Jones was a popular tenor and leading man of the 1930s and 1940s. He appeared in Show Boat (1936) and several classic comedies with the Marx Brothers, Abbott & Costello, Judy Garland, Fanny Brice, Kitty Carlisle, Maureen O'Sullivan, and
Jane Frazee.

It tickles me that The Lady from Shanghai (Orson Welles, 1947) and Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (Charles Barton, 1948) were released only a few months apart in America. What a wild double feature they could have made.

I cannot emphasise what a strong film THE DIRTIES is. It's glib to call it "Elephant but funny", and yet Matt Johnson and his collaborators made an extraordinarily powerful film about school shootings and the incel imagination. We should be talking about this film so much more than we currently do!

have to admit I didn’t think trump would pardon an actual latin american narco drug lord at the same time as he was going to war on the basis of fighting narco drug lords

ok, I promised myself I wouldn’t gripe with this thing one sentence at a time but it seems a lil dishonest to gripe that Hamnet portrays William Shakespeare as a Gloomy Gus and not mention that the movie centers on the death of his 11-year-old son.
