Ballroom was born from the defiance of Black and Latinx trans women in 1970s New York. But as it’s spread, its politics have often been diluted.

Here's how one country is doing it differently 👇
Lessons from the Cardiff catwalk, where Welsh Ballroom respects its history

20% on people who say "Going on my Holibobs!"
So like VAT but anti-VAT, they have no value, and deserve a tax.
An additional 500% tax on people who stand in the middle of the escalators/walkway/general area of Waverley Station.
An additional 340% tax on people who say "yep, all day" when you ask them to confirm the correct date

If you don’t understand how disability benefits can be a net economic positive…
You don’t understand basic economics.

Every £1 you cut from disability benefits, you cut nearly £2 from the economy.

And you harm a vulnerable person.

On this Trans Day of Remembrance, we remember the bright and courageous trans people whose lives were stolen by hatred. Their absence is felt across our city.

We will honor them by building a New York where every trans person can live safely, fully and freely.

every day this government announces more fascism.

then they run around saying the reason the public fucking despise them is bcos of 'comms'.

today we're being told we no longer deserve a right to a trial by a jury of our peers.

comms tho. it's the comms that are the problem.

#TransDayOfRemembrance
The intolerance and hostility directed at trans and gender diverse people carries a heavy toll, not just the terrible number who die violently each year, but also those whose lives are lost through self harm or from the lack of appropriate services.

Today is International Men’s Day. Always a good opportunity to talk about the damaging messages that boys receive like ‘man up’ and ‘boys don’t cry’ and challenge that damaging bs that harms them. Patriarchy also hurts little boys.

One reason Piggygate feels different is that there’s absolutely no political benefit for Trump in using that particular language; it’s just unbridled playground-level cruelty, for no reason at all. And that’s who Trump reveals himself to be—a disgusting, spiteful, unredeemed id-driven toddler.
I don't know why the "Piggy" thing is bothering me so much. It's one more unforgivable thing in a list of 20,000 unforgivable things, but I've been mad about it for like 12 straight hours.

The problem with misogyny, "male loneliness" and incels is frighteningly simple
Society allows these people to exist with their radical beliefs of women being inferior and male supremacy.
Til that changes, they won't, and making excuses of needing better male role models is just wasting air.
i actually really really hate the "there are too few positive male role models for boys" thing for one banal reason and it is that it literally just isn't true

We told you Labour was being governed by right wing ghouls and refused to vote for them but we were told we were unreasonable trotskyists who should leave the party. And here we are
“on article 8 of the ECHR in particular the right to family life ..we want to constrain in legislation the way that that is applied in immigration cases” Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood tells Sky’s Trevor Philips

Who would have imagined we would ever hear this from a Labour government

Keir Starmer trying to blame 34% of the electorate for his disgusting fascism, because he likes to forget that he was elected on only 34% of the vote.

And even that 34% did not vote for this.

Keir Starmer and Labour opposed to owning their own policies.
Asked if Keir Starmer believes British people want to "see refugee children pulled out of school and deported after 10 years in this country”, his spokesman says that “what the British public wants and what this government was elected on a mandate to deliver was to secure our borders"
