transphobia is sexism

if you have a penis you must have these characteristics
if you have a vagina you must have these characteristics

the more transphobic a person is the more sexist they are

the more sexist a society is the more transphobic it is

this should be obvious but apparently it isn't🙄

Me: (political editor of the Times newspaper) The government has completely changed its justification for this highly dubious and obviously crooked scheme. How will that work out for them? Stay tuned to find out

The government reset of the case for digital ID continues
Having originally argued that it was necessary to crackdown on illegal migration - reducing the pull factor - it is now focusing firmly on better access to public services
Liz Kendall, technology secretary, says it is a
'digital key that unlocks better, more joined-up and effective public services'

10 yrs ago our, then tory, government issued a travel warning when north carolina implemented a bathroom ban.

that was a tory government.

now a labour government, under @bphillipsonmp.bsky.social, are going to implement a bathroom ban to keep the far right christian group 'sex matters' happy.

yeah. it sits on a spring. i figured it was cutting out and switching to 'warm' instead of 'cook' once the weight shifted sufficiently.

...and all bcos of jk rowling.

we live in an oligarchy.
sloanelysbeth.bsky.social
but will @bphillipsonmp.bsky.social take note?

nope.

this government isn't trying to do right by ppl. it has a far right, christian evangelical, agenda.

the only way out is to vote green.

i like that you're highlighting the cons as well as the pros.

also catastrophic is a great word to describe starmer. 😭
sloanelysbeth.bsky.social
it's terrifying how many times i see a column, or a politician, say 'i have had a great idea!' and when i read, or listen, to their idea im like 'well, that would be nazism'.

like the nytimes recently saying autistic ppl should be further categorised.

'oh jus like how the nazis did?'

stop constantly attacking minorities.

The social media scapegoat every time.

Like sure, social media is shit sometimes, but that's not why Labour don't like it. They don't like it because they don't control it.

no. she's talking about her internal sense of self.

"You make the best of it all and hope you can help make it a little better for the gurl after you."

- Miss Major, 2023 💔
One of the things I hear with some younger trans people I know is they feel, "I'm gonna get this surgery, and I'm gonna learn that way of speaking, and I'm gonna be done." You're never done. If you're a straight, cisgender person, you're never done. Things are always happening that have the potential to change you. So all I am today is not who I'm gonna be tomorrow, because of the things that happened to me today and later tonight. People forget that. "Oh, after I transition, I'm gonna be through." Well, good luck with that. 'Cause if you're through, then it's time to leave, you know, and I don't wanna go anywhere yet.
I'm in my seventies. Why didn't I stop? Number one is community. My gurls. I've had moments of thinking about stopping, but I didn't. I made sure I would step back, reju- venate myself, and then got back out there, and that's how you make a way. Our stories are not all the same, but the destination is: to get some place where we have some peace and harmony, and we can be at ease with ourselves and the people around us. You make the best of it all and hope you can help make it a little better for the gurl after you.

Wow.

Keir Starmer's goons conned their way to power.

But now the chickens are coming home to roost.

reminds me of panhandle in the tv series 'cracker', about a criminal psychologist, and she admonishes him as an 'emotional rapist'.

i remember like 20 years ago when we all said these laws would eventually be abused to limit civil rights and free speech.

we had a labour government then too. 😑
