Boris Johnson was born abroad. I wonder what could possibly be the difference between him and the example below in the minds of not at all racist people?
Nus Ghani MP - the Deputy Speaker - moved to the UK as a small child. She has been elected by the voters in Wealden in 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2024

More outright racism from the regular GB News & Talk TV contributor Lucy White - who previously called (on GB News) for all Muslims to leave Britain

Reform love free speech while being perpetually offended any time someone asks them a very basic question.

It's a curious paradox.

Why doesn't he just laugh and say, "Of course he isn't" instead of getting so cross.
‘Is Nigel Farage a Russian asset?’
‘Are you seriously asking me that?’

@shelaghfogarty.bsky.social refuses to back down while questioning Reform’s Zia Yusuf.

The bloke that utterly effed the education system, campaigned for Brexit and bought a bill to try and ban public bodies from boycotting Israel is doing what now….?
I’m a past winner of the Orwell Prize & won partly because I exposed Vote Leave’s unlawful activities.

Michael Gove was its co-convener & refused to answer a single q. He’s now a judge of the prize & our world is truly one that Orwell would recognise

Journalist - did you racially abuse your fellow classmates at school?

Farage - it’s almost 50 years ago so I don’t remember. But I also know that I didn’t do it. And it I did do it I didn’t mean it in a bad way. Something something banter.

I can’t remember which journalist it was who first said ‘I never thought the men who would bring down democracy would be such losers’ but….. that.
Everything about this might be the saddest thing I’ve ever seen

'To suggest the failed asylum system is what's fuelling racism is kind of ridiculous - I think she knows that.'

If I’m understanding this correctly, X is owned by a white nationalist who pays poor people of color in developing countries to pretend to be working class white Americans to scare other white Americans into being afraid poor people of color from developing countries are going to ruin America?

Several texters into the show tonight FURIOUS at my assertion that if you claim to ‘love Trump’ you’re at the very least not that bothered about misogyny and homophobia, or think other things are more important. Apparently this makes me extremely divisive and dangerous…. But baffled tbh….

On top of a reported £1 million per year to write a weekly column for the Daily Mail.

(This isn’t ‘politics of envy’ btw. If there wasn’t a cost of living crisis & rising poverty, if he’d done even a half decent job as PM or written anything vaguely coherent for the Mail I’d not mention).

‘A deficit of scientific understanding at government level for which expert advice could not make up’.

I enjoy this description on what went wrong during COVID in today’s guardian editorial (although not the implications, obviously).

My thoughts are with Stevenage at this difficult time.
I never thought a comparison could be overly harsh on Stevenage. But here we are.

Interesting. Wonder what it is for media? Often at media events I’m the only state school educated person there (I had a bloody excellent education, btw. Zero complaints).

Since we’re apparently talking about people who aren’t the Chancellor as though they are, I’m sure in the interests of unbiased reporting the Telegraph will ‘unveil’ Zack Polanski’s, Ed Davey’s, f*ck it why not, even my plans to fill the economic black hole in the coming days….
