Ask me about Hotel Del Luna, I want everyone to watch it. :)

I like cats, art, info about early years education and neurodivergence.

And Hotel Del Luna.

If I follow you I don't expect you do it back, don't feel like you have to. :)

And have you noticed a big uptick in “benefits” stories at the moment?

Probably completely unrelated(🤔) to the fact we’ve had the longest run with no small boat crossings for 2 years, and the latest immigration stats are down at pre-pandemic levels…

They’ve gotta find a scapegoat somewhere🙄

Last week, ICE arrested and separated a father and son after a routine check-in. Six-year-old Yuanxin had just enrolled in the first grade at an elementary school in Astoria. Now he's in custody, alone. ICE won't say where. This cruelty serves no one. It must end.

An easy way to explain luddites:

Textile manufacturers brought in machines that could do in an hour what would have taken 12 hours by hand.

And then, tried to keep paying the now 12x more productive workers the same wages as before.

That's it, that was the problem luddites had. Not complex.

Immigration is actually really beneficial to a country and helps secure its future prosperity and long term health of its culture and isn’t a really bad thing like all those rich sociopaths who moved to Dubai say it is?
Guys, guys, guys:

what if we provide asylum to lots of refugees so that when the conflict in their homeland ends and economic reconstruction begins we have lots of social links to that country that allow us to forge mutually beneficial economic partnerships with it?

I've seen this starting to appear on LinkedIn too, and via some usually interesting critical thinkers. In qual research I've done this year, environmental impacts of AI have repeatedly bubbled up as a key public concern. Can't help but wonder if there are moves to close that down.
There is a movement to "prove that the datacenter water issues is fake". If you venture into Muskrat's hell site, you can see the community note these people put on this great piece of investigative journalism, accusing them of unfairly implicating datacenters.

Companies enthusiastically using A.I. to cut payroll costs from the balance sheet. Serious question, could A.I. replace expensive CEOs?

Grok has proved it can perform Elon Musk’s racism and disinformation duties perfectly. If Tesla fired him they’d be A TRILLION DOLLARS richer! Worth considering.
A 26-year-old PwC consultant built AI agents to cut client headcount by 30%, only to get laid off himself.

This is the reality behind the hype. AI isn't fully replacing people yet, but it is downsizing teams, turning 10 workers into 7 who now need to spend their time reviewing LLM outputs.
